Alright time for honesty
I was just on a thread on /b/ where they were posting tribal women. I saved a couple pictures, but then I noticed that some people in the thread were yelling CP. I reverse searched the pictures to make sure they weren't CP and it didn't say they were underage anywhere but I deleted them anyway. Fuck they all looked like they were in their 20s to me. The thread didn't get deleted and there were no mods but I'm still freaking out

If it was CP it would've gotten deleted, in /b/ if it looks like they're under 18 the mob mentality sets in and everyone freaks out. I doubt it was, but deleting it was probably the best choice.

I went through a similar experience during my /b/ lurking phase. I once posted a porn picture which I saved from a previous porn thread. It was a close up of a penis going in a shaved vagina, an amateur picture with no pubic hair (it was clearly shaved without any doubt) and no visible face. Upon posting, I was banned with the reason "CP". I freaked the fuck out. I don't know if the mods saw wrong, maybe they didn't bother to enlarge the picture, maybe they didn't want to take chance since the age could never be proven/unproven with the lack of visible face, maybe it was known CP and I didn't know, it looked like normal amateur porn to me but it still feel dirty as fuck. I automatically deleted everything from that folder.
Nothing happened to me and probably nothing will happen to you. It still feels shitty.

A friend of mine got banned for "cp" after posting in a "legal teens" thread on /b/ a year back. Since I frequently posted from his house on my laptop, we both trucrypt our data, then formatted, and had minor panic attacks for about a year -- even though neither of us ever had any actual cp.
Nothing ever came of it. No e-mails, no phone calls, but the two of us were freaked the fuck out for quite a while.
And we both lost our porn stashes out of fear. Fuck. But honestly, it's much better knowing that no one can find porn on my laptop or harddrive if they went looking for it.
Definitely stopped posting on 4chan as much too -- having fewer pictures with which to respond hampers you a lot.

I have a dynamic IP that renews every week. I think I tried to appeal the ban, I'm not sure if I did or if it was an option (this story happened 9 years ago), but all that happened is that my IP automatically renewed and I never heard of it again. I stopped trusting any pic I saw on /b/ and eventually stopped going.
