How can I become a nicer person. I feel like I have good morals and good intentions, but whenever I talk to people I'm just a sarcastic asshole.

If they know you're being sarcastic, what's the problem here? You can speak like a sarcastic asshole and still be a nice person.

As long as you aren't mean to people while being a sarcastic asshole, it's okay. Compensate by doing friendly things like helping out people in your life even without them asking and by being generally good behaved.

I find sarcasm to be the lowest form of humour, yet I use it way too much, to the extent where people have asked me what I'm like when I'm serious. Kind of makes me feel bad, but maybe I'm too insecure to be honest and genuine, especially when I'm talking to new people.

I would consider myself to be kind, well behaved etc, but I'd say shit like "nice shirt loser" in a douchey tone, if I like their shirt, instead of just telling them normally. I also mock people jokingly if they slip up, or something.
I don't know, I think people probably think I'm a asshole

If they're used to your sarcasm, they probably don't think you're an asshole. If you're so concerned about how they'll perceive your sarcasm, just put a can on it.

dude, also use much sarcasm but something . Despite this there have been people who have stayed by my side and I have known more and I know them well. When we have spent some time together I leave em a little sarcasm and I care about them , problems , feelings , love affairs , etc. And they know that my sarcasm is fun . Anything else. Once a person I liked told me : " Your sarcasm is your shield because you're afraid of being hurt " possibly was right but I still use it.
