Don't specifically go after normal gays, but don't rule them out either. And DO NOT hide the trans thing from anyone you're interested in, because it only makes things easy for your short-term. Long-term, no.

You are in a challenging position to be sure. Do you have access to a mental health professional so you can work on liking yourself during the long process of transitioning? I think that should be a priority. Other than that, all you can do is be honest about who you are and what you are experiencing. Don't pretend to be a gender you're not, that will be so damaging in the long run. There are gay men out there who are ok with a vagina on the right guy! That said, you really need to be in a better place before you put yourself out there, and the inevitable rejection you'll experience through dating will be so devastating if you can't love yourself.
