>Your current worries
Don't have any serious worries at the moment, but I do have a difficult situation to deal with. My mum passed away last year, and my younger brother is the executor of her estate. After tax I'm due to inherit a fairly large sum (it's the price of a used car short of quarter of a million), the issue being that I don't want it. She did piss all for me when she was alive. Most of the money came from selling the house she lived in, which my dad paid for - to my mind the money isn't "her's" to give away in the first place. Whilst not rich I'm 60% through my mortgage, I've got a pension fund, my kids all have iphones, my wife doesn't have to work and I bought a Jag last year, so it's not like I need the money either. What I'm struggling with is finding a way to tell my brother (who I've allways had a strenuous relationship with even at the best of times) "actually mate, you can take that two hundred and thirty grand and set it on fucking fire for all I care" without sounding like the most obnoxious, stuck up cunt ever to walk the earth.

>Words of personal advice to give to other people
Don't ever sell yourself short. Don't apply for any job which you don't think is above your skill level. If someone asks if you're capable of something always say yes even if you have no idea, then work out a way of doing before you start, or just wing it. When someone offers you money to do something always accept, but tell them it's going to cost at least double what they're suggesting. One of my biggest regrets is that I spent the first ten or so years of my working life earning less than £10 an hour (I don't get paid by the hour anymore, but if I did it'd work out somewhere around £40/hr) purley because I didn't have the nerve to say "look mate, you can get someone incompetent to do half of the job for that price, but if you want /me/ to do it you shall have to put your hand a bit deeper in your pocket".

Time and people are the only things that have any real value. Everything else can be replaced one way or another.

>Words of advice someone gave you that resonated in a positive way
When my dad was around he always knew just what to say, no matter what problem I went to him with. His advice was an even split between "stop complaining and get on with it", "stop making excuses and get on with it", or "just do something and if it turns out wrong fix it later".

>What you like about life
My wife and kids.

>Positive, earnest words of advice that you received that was deceiving in some way
"Invest in the Bank of Iceland, it's a sure thing!". Had about £45,000 tied up with them when they went bankrupt. I did get it all back in the end, but it took about three years.

I'll take that as a compliment, haha. There's people with the same mindset everywhere, from little rural country towns to big cities. It can be hard sometimes to find people like that, but social media is key - I met most of my friends through social media, and it's easier to get a feel for their vibes that way.

Generally, most positive people like that are interested in outdoor-sy activities (hiking, skating, surfing, etc.) and a lot do volunteer work (especially with animals). Also, music festivals and concerts. Think places you would find your stereotypical hippie.

Current worries? A friend is very worried about things and i'm a bit worried about her (she hasn't responded to a text).
I want to help somehow but i'm terrible with people.
She doesn't need my help though, really, she'll ace all her exams anyway.
So will I, probably, in my insane skin-of-the-teeth way.

Advice to others: enjoy life and don't end up a robotic workaholic like me, who gets up in the morning and works like a maniac simply out of routine, because he doesn't know anything else. Love if you can. Drink. Do what comes naturally.
My philosophy could be described as a sort of modified old stoicism. I do my duty, and serve others. I never asked to be born, but while i'm here, i might as well make myself useful.

I don't have a lot of connections with people, friends, etc (only talk to 1 person at the moment), so not a lot of advice, compliments, impacts, etc.
Favorite book? Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Generalizing it is both a cause and effect of a lot of ignorance. Within the bounds of modern western culture, I think people underestimate the effects of anomie and ignore it to an unsuitable extent, or, worse, dismiss it as angst and don't even consider treating it.
>A moment in your life that changed you or made a huge impact on you
I once accused my mother of theft of some of my dad's paperwork after he died, and when she forgave me, I learned trust within weeks, and began to have intimate friendships. It's helped me slow down and look at my thoughts as a third party, which gives me much greater perspective. Taking one's thoughts as total truth is the cause of much suffering. A different person said that I needed to take full responsibility for my actions, words, thoughts, and emotions. Another great bit of wisdom is to release all anger as it comes. Let it go, and you will be at peace.

>Worries
Money is a bit tight because I've somewhat foolishly committed to spending quite a bit. Two days of overtime have cropped up, though, so that's good.

Trying to go back to college. Balancing work, personal time and again, money.

>Personal advice
I don't have enough experience to be of much use, but lately I've had luck with just being consistent and actually getting off my ass and doing what I need to. Procrastination sucks, to-do lists help.

>Moral code
Perry vague. I try to just be decent and polite to people. I'm reading some stuff on stoicism in an attempt to become more calm and level.

>Advice that's helped
Saw a post the other day apparently quoting a Chinese proverb: don't avoid doing something because it takes too long; time will pass either way.

>Things I like about life
Comfy things. Sitting around wrapped in a blanket, reading and sipping coffee or tea, good sol anime, stuff like that.

>Mantra
"If this isn't nice, I don't know what is."
I remembered that during a pleasant moment this past weekend and thought that I should actually start actively acknowledging nice things.

I don't like picking favorites but The Martian Chronicles have always been one I enjoy. I like the atmosphere of the second half.

>Your current worries

Currently dealing with sexual anxiety where I can't seem to get in the moment and out of my head when I'm with a girl. Also trying to quit porn and learn to be multi-orgasmic from a book.

Recently graduated from college and I'm worried that I won't have enough time to learn about things outside of formal education (ex. French and Norwegian are at the top of my list)

Also worried about what to get my father for Father's Day. I'm thinking of buying him a watch, but he's never been one for material goods, we've never spent much "Father-son time", and I don't like the idea of expressing love through material goods, but I can't think of a better way.

I'm also thinking about whether I've taken enough risks with my life thus far in the larger scope of things, with girls or my career. I feel like I won't truly find out what I'm made of until I take risks.

I worry about worrying too much and that I don't live in the present enough, so I've taken up meditation.

I worry quite a bit.

Final exam in 3 hours, need 70 or i'll gradute with a 2.2 and that''ll be career suicide. Beating myself up over it since i was on a first at the start of the year.
Tomorrow have a final interview at a financial firm in London. It'll be great but the role is for an extrovert, and i've bluffed my into this stage with false confidence. Not sure how i feel about spending the rest of my days in London as well.

No one to celebrate with since everyones left uni. Feel pretty down about it.

cant motivate myself to get the last missing exams for my medical degree because it involves asking people for doing me kind of favors and am a bit of an aspie about that.
I should learn to not depend on compliments as much, both relationships seem to suffer from me not getting enough compliments/thanks...

If you have difficulties making decisions, know that most of them dont matter, if you first study X than change subject to Y or start out with Y doesnt make a difference in the end. Most of them only decide about your immediate future and few are longterm. This also applies to relationships since divorces have become a thing.

Justice is important, everything is politics. try to get by doing the least amount of work so you can have al ot of time with fun on the internet.

Have to move in one month, going to live completely alone. I'm afraid of living in big town, I wish I could spend most of the time in my basement, going out just for food and for university lectures. Not sure about my future profession, going to be English teacher, I suppose, wanted to go for IT but failed. Frequent headaches and suicide urges.

>Words of personal advice to give to other people
Too young and unexperienced to give any advice. I'd recommend to maintain an informational hygiene. If you have certain believes and views, write it down there and make a diagram or tree with your arguments, going deeper and deeper, but using only your knowledge.
Your respect in society is based on what you have got to offer, rather than your personality traits.

>Your personal philosophy/moral code
Be calm in every situation and treat people with easiness, like it's a game. Helps to stay psychologically healthy.

>The most memorable compliment you have received
Have heard several "I love you" from friends (not in romantic way). I don't need the compliments, the fact they visited me when I was in hospital is already enough. Also was told that I'm good with essays.

>What you like about life
Lucky to be born in family with income placed somewhere between "middle" and "upper-middle".

>A moment in your life that changed you or made a huge impact on you
Heard my drunk father telling about me being a complete failure and his biggest regret of his life.

school is dragging ass updating transcripts and sending my degree so i can send my paperwork into my new school

i realized of everyone i know, friends, family, acquaintances, I am literally the only single one. i've been slowly cutting back on social activities because it's fucking weird being the 3rd or 5th or 7th wheel. so not only is my ugly creepy vibe keeping me from having a woman, it's making shit awkward with my friends

advice i have for everyone is kinda lame, but don't put your chores off. get hem done early and you don't have to feel them weighing you down all day. go mow the lawn, wash the dishes, do your laundry, whatever. just get it done and off your back

my ex wife tried to get me arrested for rape when she told a victims advocate that whenever i would touch her she would get so uncontrollably aroused that even if she didn't want to, she just *had* to have sex with me

College grades trouble and failing to fully fulfill duty as President of club and seeing the club die.

Fake it till you make it. When you make it you realize you have more potential than you realized.

Life is about experiences. Don't fuck with other people. Fuck everyone's opinion. You only let yourself feel what your feeling.

Moment of huge impact: Person I really looked up as well as a mentor, to said he saw nothing in me when I met him and didn't think I would make anything of my else. But then he said I hugely surpassed his expectations and he sees me with great potential. Fuck everyone's opinion.

Well the person who gave it to me ended up being a complete disappointment but we were trying to decide what movie to watch while we were hanging out and I told him I just wanted to watch a movie about a badass woman who kicks a lot of ass and he told me all I needed to do was look in the mirror. Realistically: none. Just for fun: Jews & the decline of Western Culture.
>Advice
Advice is really just applied psychology. I know for certain like half of these relationshit and depression threads on this board can be solved if either one of you fuckers took the time to read a god damn book. Psychology is nature understanding itself, and when you understand something you are not afraid/overwhelmed/emotional/negative about it. People are always caught up in their own head and don't know how to deal with it. Too many selfish people nowadays.
>Philosophy
Social Engineering is not evil. Objective truth does not exist. There is more to life than the pursuit of sex and reputation.
