What is the one thing you started or stopped doing that improved your life?
>>
>>17222906
Breathing.
>>
>>17222923
How funny.
>>
Well, the first and only permanent change I have made in my life was to stop drinking sodas and instead to drink water all the time.

My second change, I quit using computers for long periods of time, my life got so much better. Currently using a PC to work on, but I'll be getting rid of it again for summer.
>>
>>17222906
I have been visiting a therapist for three months now and i think it has helped me a bit, giving me another perspective about my life. I'm still a depressed mess though.
>>
>>17222906

I started ealthing more healthier food, started working out, removed alchocol from my life and I'm taking midnight walks from time to time to relax a bit more.
>>
>>17222942
Awesome... Did you also restrict internet usage? I don't have a pc, but i still spend way too much time on it via phone.

>>17222974
True. That changed a LOT for me, too. Went for a year, got antidepressants, then went off again and am now happier than i have ever been in my life. Best decision ever.

I also almost completely stopped eating sweets. It has gotten to the point where people know that i don't eat/like sweet suff. That makes my life a lot easier.
>>
>>17222979
I really like the idea of midnight walks. I'll try that!

Good on you for droping the alc and incorporate healthy food! Have you noticed health improvements?
>>
>>17222997
Yes, I sleep better and I have more energy. Feels good.
>>
>>17222906
started lifting heavy objects, stopped giving a shit about other people and their shit

life is pure bliss and protein now

>also ignore women acquire currency
>>
>>17223036
How long have you been on it? I need to get into lifting again. There are weights at my room, waiting to be picked up. I juat need to be more disciplined. What helps you to stay on track?
>>
>>17223036
Got any tips for a newbie?
>>
>>17223041
2 years now, my diet is the hardest part at this point but qt's keep me motivated so hopefully i'll find her soon.... until then more work and chicken for dinner
>>
>>17222906
caring
>>
>>17223045
i went to /fit/ and read the sticky, but don't stay there forever or you'll hate your body, and women for that matter, but their exercise advise is good
>>
>>17223053
How often do you lift?
Pretty sure you will!
What's the hard part about your diet? Staying on track?
>>
>>17222906
Stopped thinking that i'm entitled to anyone giving a shit about me.

I'm responsible for my own happiness, and nobody else. Took me a while, but after that i went from a miserable neet who blamed society boohoo to a normie qith a career, and i'm pretty happy with how i turned out.
>>
>>17223059
I try to lift at least 3 days a week (I'd lift more but i'm workin 35-40 hours a week lately) and yeah my diets not great, you can spend an hour on the treadmill and it burns like 600 calories....then I eat chipotle and that's easily 1000 calories

but im trying to cut that fast food shit out
>>
>>17223053
I just watch Dwayne Johnson movies while I work out. Tons of motivation if you just keep striving to be like The Rock. Working out for women is silly bro.

Diet is definitely harder than the working out. Eating big is tough. You'd think it would be easy but it's hard to get enough of the right calories/nutrients in a day without eating the same thing daily.
>>
>>17223067
Bruh, you can lift more you just gotta kick yourself in the butt an do it.

I work 40 hours a week and workout 6 days a week. An hour an a half each session. I really hate leg day though and it's a chore to get to it, but I drag my ass in to do it.

You take any supplements? Maybe try a pre-workout to get that extra boost of energy. Caffiene, like black coffee, works too.
>>
>>17223071
I know working out for women is silly but seriously it's the only thing that motivates me, I mean I guess it's great that i'm healthy but I probably wouldn't do it if girls didn't like it. might have to watch these videos
>>
>>17223085
I drink black coffee but I've heard mixed reviews about creatine and other supplements you can take. I know I need to hit the gym more but fuck its so hard to lift heavy when you're getting off an 8 hour shift
>>
>>17223100
As far as my research has gone, and yeah it's pretty mixed on all supplements, creatine is pretty legit. I take it every day.

On top of that I also take Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein. I get about 175 grams of protein from food sources but I take a shake before and after workouts. So I''m at 225 grams per day. I'm only 5'10" 150 lbs right now. I was around 140 at the beginning of the year. I dropped to that from 164 the previous year by just doing cardio and realized I was getting too skinny so I started lifting about 6 months ago.

Sometimes I'll take pre-workouts but I usually only take them every other day. Sometimes I'll go extended periods without taking them. I've noticed a definite boost of energy but it's only marginal.

I think creatine and whey are good supplements to take daily that are safe and proven.

For the ultralazy/busy people, what's a good cost effective, easy to cook way to have chicken regularly?
>>
>>17223540
chicken breast
salt it a lot
fry in a bit butter till crisp and brown
add pepper, lots of paprika powder and little bit cane sugar
pour brandy over it
count to 5, ignite

noble version:
now add cream
let it simmer for 5 mins
add fresh or frozen mix of herbs

I started lifting.
Lifting weights boosts testosterone levels and helped me cure my depression completely. (I lift 3 days a week and not everyday)

Started getting Adderall for my ADD
Adderall boosts effects of antidepressants and also helps with depression and unproductivity in general

Went vegan
I lost 20lbs by going vegan. Now even when I get lazy for weeks I can still keep my slim figure because of the diet change

Working on myself.
I found my career choice and am happy to spend hours studying for it. This GREATLY helped me to think less about what other people are thinking because I feel like knowing what to do with your life means comparing yourself less with other people.
Im an introvert, dont have many friends, and like to spend my days at home. I've been dating an extroverted Chad who has a great social life, but since I found my career, I care less about comparing myself with him.

Im starting therapy next week because I still have unresolved problems with my past so that should help too.

Good luck, OP.

Faggot.
>>
I started flossing my teeth.

It's simple and easy, so it led to me scheduling bigger & better things with my life.
>>
I started smoking weed

I began feeling off emotionally after age 18. By 20 I lost all motivation to exist and considered killing myself a few weeks before my 22nd birthday

I feel bad for using this as a crutch because I hate what this shit can do to some people. In 10th grade I met a qt blond tomboy in my biology class. she were the only other student. she proved to be a pretty awesome girl. I refused to think it were the weeds doing.

Until her I had only seen pain and suffering come from this shit. I give it a try around 21 and it helped me meet a lot of cool and interesting people. I lost over 40 pounds and art studies aren't mentally taxing.

I wish my relatives and others didn't abuse it.

Stop procrastinating.
Stop staying inside.
Stop being such a loner.

Wallowing in self pity. It's amazing how much smoother everything goes when you stop stubbornly walking into that stupid trap over and over again.

See, I don't understand. Even the happiest/most successful people still watch porn. Why should I stop?

first drugs then alcohol and smoking

using your imagination is better for you
>>
>>17225360
I went through a 6 month period of only using my imagination a few years ago, I didn't feel any different. But then again I'm not addicted to porn, I just fap and close it until the next day.

I spend only cash, never debit or credit unless ordering online. Saves me tons of money plus fewer impulse food purchases which helped me lose weight.

Stopped lingering in a dead end long term relationship, still recovering but holly shit do i now realize how much improvements ive made from it and how much it screwed me over. I never realized how much damage the wrong person could do to your life but now i know exactly how much damage the wrong person could do to your life.

>225g protien/day
>for a 150lb guy
Have you got insurance to pay for the diabeetus treatment and liver transplant, or are you just saving up to pay for it yourself?

>I'm only 5'10" 150 lbs right now
>I was around 140 at the beginning of the year.
So, you're eating an amount of protien that would be excessive for a 220lb man, but it's taken you six months to gain 10lbs? Either you meant "I eat 225g of food in total each day" or you have the T levels of a six year old girl and about two dozen tapeworms living inside you.
>>
>>17225384
This

I used to hang out with dudes who would only smoke weed. I used to feel accepted among them but then I realized I wasn't really happy and that the only thing we had in common was the fact that we smoked weed

>tfw friend is now a fucking loser who smokes weed all the time who used to have big plans and big dreams
>>
Picked up an instrument and got obsessed with it. That literally saved my life. Then I got into drugs and all kinds of bullshit because of music, which ruined it again.
>>
>>17222906

Promised myself time on the weekends for goofing off, and wrote myself a long letter explaining why I deserved it and why I shouldn't feel guilty refusing to get roped into giving away my precious free time doing things I don't want to do and which won't help me de-stress. Then, I cut out all goofing off during the work week. No internet surfing, no watching tv or movies, no video games, nothing. Reading before bed I still allow.

Has made a world of difference. Now I really do work hard during the week (late into the night, most nights), and yet feel less burnt out because I really do play hard on weekends, doing the things that *I* want to do, the things that I know help *me* unwind, instead of what people seem to think I ought to like.
>>
I got a gym membership and started running when it's nice outside.

I also started getting over the negative feelings I used to have about not having any friends. It's not worth letting it stop me from doing stuff I want to enjoy.
>>
>>17222906
I don't really remember it, but I suspect potty training was a big step forward.
>>
I stopped thinking of other people in an aggressive manner. Regardless of whether I think a person is dumb as dog shit or not, I treat them kindly and avoid being critical of them.

I now feel like every person is likable and that I'm capable of befriending anyone.
