two answers:
first, it can be both at the same time. it sucks not being able to fly but it also doesn't matter.

secondly, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. people tend to magnify the benefit of things they don't or can't have. it's like that thought experiment where most people would rather earn 120k a year and live in a place where everyone else makes 100k, and pick that option over making 200k a year and living in a place where everyone else makes 400k. when someone else has something nice a lot of people get envious for no good reason.
be happy with what you have. you wouldn't get pissed off because you can't fly, don't get pissed off because you're bald

I'm mostly bald and have never had sexual intercourse. Balding doesn't suck. It would if i was a girl but balding is normal for guys. Basically it sucked for 1 day after i realized i was going bald but then i started seeing tons of bald people around me on tv in movies etc and nobody cares.
As for no sex, that doesn't suck either. Sex is messy and gross. Masturbate is nice and clean and porn turns me on a lot more than real life

When you don't have something you overinflate its benefit. Sex isn't a big deal precisely because people get it so much. Hair isn't a big deal precisely because it's always there for some people. They take it for granted.

When you don't have something, you become acutely aware of it, especially when others have what you don't. It's the cliched "you don't know what you've got til its gone". You only notice it once there's a difference between you and someone else. The meaning thereby isn't derived from the thing itself, but by your perception of it, and the social connotations that you believe it places upon you.

There's a huge deeper layer to why people not getting sex feel like it's such a big deal. It feels like it's a rejection of you as a person. Sex is a dirty thing according to society, and the fact that someone won't accept your dirt while plenty of others are accepted feels alienating. The fact that you're missing out on something that 99.99% of all humanity experiences makes you feel inhuman. But that has nothing to do with sex itself. Any robot who has bought a prostitute can tell you that. Anyone who has had plenty of meaningless one night stands with bar skanks can tell you that. Your feeling of rejection is far deeper than that, the idea of sex just brings it forward.

But luckily, what this means is that you don't need sex in order to circumvent these issues. You believe sex will "fix" your worthlessness, but it won't, because the issue was never about sex itself. What will fix it is becoming more confident in yourself and learning to see true value in yourself as a person, regardless of your flaws. This is pretty fucking hard to do, obviously, otherwise therapists wouldn't exist. But ironically enough, this will make you a more attractive person.

A couple weeks back, I was working 3 days a week. As a result, I ended up looking forward most to those 3 days. Now I'm back to working 5 days a week and now I look forward to my 2 days off. It always works like that, man. You always just want what you don't have.
