Are temp agencies really my best option when I can't find work?
They're the scum of the earth and cut a gross amount of money out of the work you do.
I have some skill, but no references and the economy is shit.
Do I just suck it up and slave away until I find something decent?

you act like theres some moral obligation here.
can you afford to keep waiting? how long? you decide if its worth it. we dont know any thing about you other than that you hate temp agencies.

I'm on assistance right now, so that's keeping me afloat. But I need to start making money soon- so, I can find a new place for September. Currently renting a sublet. I've been buying and selling things to supplement my income- but it's slow and doesn't make me enough to live on.
Guess this is a venting thread more than anything.

vent somewhere else.
They're decent for finding full time work when you need money badly. I worked in a factory assembling barbecues for a few months, the work was boring as shit and all the co-workers were smelly foreigners or extremely sketchy but it wasn't that bad. I was only able to find shitty part time gigs before working there so they kind of saved my ass
