If I'm being investigated for a crime can I run away to a large city or something and get away or will they know where I am the second I do anything

You might get away for a while. But the minute you get a job (SS#) or use a credit card or take money from a bank, or get pulled over for speeding, the local cops will routinesly check you against the national database.
Depends what they've told you and how involved you are with the investigation. It's quite possible you can just say nothing and leave. You don't need to "run away". Just get a job and move on somewhere else and refuse to get in contact with them unless you're forced to.
It might not look good if you do eventually get charged, but maybe you haven't got anything to lose. If they had serious evidence against you they wouldn't be giving you the opportunity to leave.

Just turn yourself in, pedo. The streets and kids will be safer with you in jail.

They just said they would call me to schedule with an investigator and they called me a few times and I said I want to talk to a lawyer first
