I usually lurk /sp/ and /int/.
Never ever will you find a serious discussion about sports or international matters there. Have some fun on those boards as you see your IQ drop like a waterfall.

Avoid all the boards that use the word "cuck". Obv all do but /tv/, /mu/, /pol/, /r9k/, /b/ etc are all filled with insecure white guys who hate women/are racist. At the start you'll find it funny but eventually you'll realise that very little discussion is had on these boards. Also, be weary that anytime you mention anyone who isn't a white male, shit will ensue.
Also, fuck /lit/ because they're all pretentious shitheads who also fit said description but are worse because they constantly try to prove how smart they are.

never really been on /lit/. i have been on /pol/ a bit and yes, they are just as bad as people in /r9k/. this is probably the most "normal" board i know of. i have only been coming on 4 chan for about 2 years though. most of 4chan seems edgy and pretentious but there isnt really any other sites i know where people have decent discussions. reddit is a circle jerk.

I mostly visit /tg/. Sometimes I hit up /vp/ when I'm in the mood, but it's not often since that board can get so cancerous so quickly about the same shit every time.

Basically, pick an interest and go to the board that discusses it. I go to /tv/ for TV series discussions, like GoT.

/tg/ is a god tier board. They love all things tabletop, and frequently have interesting discussions about history, mythology, weapons and all things fantasy/sci fi related. Worth a look if you have even a slight interest in d&d

It's remarkable that a hobby with so much potential for awkward people in it has one of the more palatable boards on 4chan. Although in my experience /x/ is surprisingly friendly, even for someone coming from an outsider's perspective.
I like /vr/ and /a/. /r9k/ and /v/ are the worst places on the internet though.
/a/ and vidya boards are full of retards. Like, literal autists
/pol/ is full of racist retards, but you get international news pretty quickly and sometimes they make fun shit
/r9k/ is full of loners, but they are pretty nice to each other.
Id probably recomend you /tg/ or /x/, they are the sanest boards by far.
As for this board, sometimes it´s nice and sometimes it´s way too fucking gay, you know? you can see kilometers away which people here are pretentious dipshits that´ll kick everyone outta their special snowflake while talking about being nice and tolerant (i could swear by the way they write they are female or under 18)
