good christ OP you live in the united states, just call the county mental health/human services department and get a social worker or a case manager or something. idk how it is in cali, but in some places you can get mental health case management services for free if you use county mental health services. and if you're poor you don't pay for those either. so you go see a shrink for 20 minutes every 3 months for free and in exchange you get someone who'll do exactly what you're asking for here. plus they're a lot less likely to be a serial killer or some kind of control freak.
