Hey I haven't posted in adv/ before, but recently my libido's changed quite drastically, I don't really wanna talk about it with anyone I know. I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight?
I'm gonna throw out some background!

What I'm essentially asking is 'is this normal?' Has anyone else gone through something similar at my age
And 'is this permanent?' I really hope not because I hear sex is fun!
Finally if anyone knows of any asexual people, does this sound similar or am I being paranoid?

Do you feel anxious or depressed? Are you on any medication?
Also, you can and should go to the doctor if it's that much of a problem. I know it's tough as a 19 year old but you're not asexual and there are people who can help you out better than this shitty board

Nope! I'm just cynical. Plus a lot of depression/anxiety medications have 'decreased libido' as a side effect so I'm not sure that would help all too much!

Yes you can grow into it I'm a 21yr male an I lost all interest at 16 but it's nice not having any sexual urges getting in the way.

You are not asexual, the chances of that are less than 1%.
Go to the doctor, you should have started seeing a gyno around 17/18 anyway.
Also, as one women to another, you don't have to settle with the first gyno you visit, you can request another until you feel comfortable with them.
Other than that, improve the basics to start-sleep, excersise, diet, stress. Once those basic things are dealt with, and if you STILL don't feel good, start making appointments with your doctor to rule out other problems.

i am going through something similar. i virtually never think about sex, i sometimes masturbate but i only do it to kill time and i have to force myself to cum, often losing my hard on through masturbating. in ways it is great but sometimes it can be depressing, as a guy, so much pride and conversation relates to sex, i find it difficult to relate to others guys sometimes.
Do you regularly have sex? I find it kind of strange that you mentioned a lower sex drive, but not your actual sexual experience.
Masturbating gets boring, I've found actual sex with a loved one does not.

You could find people that are asexual.
20, I have a girlfriend but I haven't had sex with her for months, but then again I'm a little attracted to guys also.
I'm sure it's just because of depression, I have taken magnesium pills and they work pretty well though.

It is, but it's a necessary evil and why you need to be comfortable with your doctor. You get over a lot of the anxiety eventually, but still..you are showing off your junk to a stranger, it's fine to feel a little weird about it.
However, you are going to start needing to get a pap every year or two, especially if you started having sex, and the sooner you start to get comfortable with your doctor, the easier that will be.
I would really try to up the exercise and get a somewhat good diet going. That alone helps me with my anxiety and insomnia, and I start wanting sex more.
