I don't think anyone will be retarded enough to pick a major just to pick up chicks. However, this seems like a rather "useless" degree and I will probably assume you did a shit job in high school so you are stuck with little choices for what to major in.
Minoring in Asian history is another story. I will probably assume you are into Asian culture or chicks.

I just like history and was drawn to chinese intellectual history in particular. I intend to do a graduate degree.

It really depends man - half asian here, I don't think knowing about Chinese history, unification, eastern philosophical roots from the hundred schools of thought period etc, will actually help you with all that much desu. Asian girls are pretty materialistic ahah so I don't think it earns you major brownie points with them. I think a lot of the philosophical lessons and the contrasts between Eastern Collectivism and Western Individualism can be learned/read about for free in your spare time.
A degree in such might impress Chinese employers or something if you went to go work in somewhere like Hong Kong or Singapore I guess.. seems like a bit of a waste of money...

The problem is that stem fags know fuck all about how history works. Doing research on any topic no matter how small takes a lot of time and a lot of reading. If it is not your full time job then it is doubtful that you will ever have the same amount of historical knowledge as a professional historian.
Sure there are amateur historians, but they are few and they must be very dedicated with a lot of free time and access to libraries and academic journals. History is not facts; it is interpretation and there is an overwhelming anount of material to consider.

Lol, history is a stupid pointless subject. What historians do is they take facts and twist them around to fit whatever narrative they happen to be personally emotionally biased towards. And the history they teach in school is whatever they want plebs to believe to keep them obedient and patriotic.
Last history book I read was about some Roman general. The author was an atheist so he did everything he could to downplay the generals religious beliefs. In the middle of the book he goes on a rant about how he doesn't understand how someone so intelligent and great could be religious. Every single history book I have read is just like that to some degree, like at least that author admits his bias.

history majors are a waste IMO. just do a language minor and learn shit that'll actually be useful. you'll have to take a few [insert language here] courses to complete the minor. also, why do you think all asian girls are studying to be more asian? check the communications major. that's where all the hot chicks are anyways.
