Why does Reddit get so much hate on /adv/? It's not exactly worse than here
>/adv/ is full of non-normies/neets and most people in society frown upon 4chan (Would you rather be seen using 4chan or Reddit in the public?)
>people on reddit are less likely to troll/post gibberish answers as there is a username attached to their comment
>people answering questions in a subreddit will probably be more knowledgeable about the topic
>>
>>17149549
Because we despise what's popular
>>
>>17149549
You're right. /adv/ is full of normies and slut telling lies to people asking advice. The only reason I come here is to spread redpill truths.
>>
>>17149549
Yeah I've unironically started using Reddit more and more. Subreddits can be very useful if you want to find out answers to a specific topic. The people on 4chan seem much more similar to me in terms of their cynicism and aversion to SJW bullshittery (although Reddit has users like that too), so I'll always prefer 4chan, but that doesn't mean Reddit isn't useful too.
>>
>>17149549
Most of the subs are circlejerks filled with overly sensitive little cupcakes. Tech subs are filled with objectively false information so they're pretty worthless.

There are circlejerk forums here too (pol, r9k) but it's rare when I see honest advice calling people out on their stupidity on reddit. Too many people looking for (and receiving) reinforcement for their own shitty behavior.

>implying 4chan ain't popular

Go read about the usage statistics you illiterate dipshit
>>
>>17149549

Because it is a different community and people have a creepy emotional and tribal connection to 4chan.

You're right though. Reddit has better porn, amateur porn, and shitposters are automatically ignored because they use throwaway accounts. People just don't like it because they know that it is a better site, they aren't ready to let go of 4chan.

Reddit is censored.

/adv/ is not.

You can't call someone a faggot nigger over there for being wrong, you'll just be banned and have your post deleted.

But here you can.

You have to register to use Reddit.

But here you don't.

Just go browse reddit instead then, i don't see the problem here.

Reddit is a popularity contest. People are less likely to come out with blunt statements, carefully trying to work around the P.C. brigade, giving the P.C. friendly answer as to deemed whats acceptable. Here, that shit doesn't fly. Your GF acts like a slut, she'll get called on it in adv and not get downvoted for stating such a thing. Which then leads to an upvote in reddit about some pc person talking about how they are shocked at the hatred and misogny or some bullshit spewing, people should be free to make their own decisions in life and what they did in their past has no relevance to now. Just an example off the top of my head, but it perfectly sums up why reddit is horrible. I've used both, the only time I use reddit is for sub-forums for specific games like Hearthstone/Overwatch etc.

4chan gave us lolcats. Reddit gave us the red pill. 4chan contains its political dregs. Reddit gave us the BernieBros. 4chan polices its users, officially and unofficially. Reddit gave us the Fappening.

And you tell us that Reddit is not somehow worse than 4chan? Not a chance. 4chan learned the lessons of its wilder days; Reddit, by contrast, clings to its wildness. We ceded the title of "Mos Eisley of the Internet" to Reddit long ago, and we are a better place for it,

The Karma system is absolute cancer
On top of already having the downsides of a forum (personality worship, ad hominem galore), The karma system encourages staying in the current and using rhetoric instead of addressing the point.
4chan has its downsides, in particular unrestrained shitposting, but I believe (You) is a way softer drug than Karma.

People here are stupid. They are still believe reddit is some kind of le meme forum hugbox. When in reality, this year, it's pretty much 4chan without the idiotic shitposting.
Reddit is getting more and more politically incorrect by the they. They will not defend women or shitty people unless you are on the subreddits designed for that kind of shit. Even the most popular subreddits are getting the '4chan' mentallity.
What I like the most about reddit is that there's almost no shitposting, you wont find comments like 'LMAO FAGGOT KEK KILL URSELF' because people ignore them or the comment gets deleted. I dislike this kind of comments because they are just idiotic, contribute nothing to the conversation and are a chore to read after 100000 times.

Sadly some people on 4chan went to reddit on 2009 once and believe it's still the same website with the same kind of people, when in reality the more popular reddit got, the better it became, unlike 4chan.

I see it. How could I not see it? But they get shut right the fuck down wherever they pop up. The one exception to this was /r9k/, but that got locked down as a containment board in its own right. It took a while to start enforcin the cpntainment policies, but that is happening now.

I suspect I may actually know more than you dp about this subject.

Karma is cancer, but subreddits are its metastasis. When anyone can pop up a new hugbox, containment and eradication become impossible. That's how Reddit was able to fall as far as it has. It wasn't always worse than 4chan, but it has become something even viler.

This.
Any unpopular opinions get buried on Reddit. Here you can get wider perspective on the subject.
>>
>>17149804
This. kinda why I've always liked this place, people aren't pretend nice here.

I agree with this

Not with this
Have you been on /b/ recently ? it's saddening
When you call out /pol/ you get called out back

reddit creeps me the fuck out with their le upvote worship. i mean they really try to impress the fucking internet
>>

This sounds stupid as hell, but (for this board in particular) the humor, advice, and experience is a lot more mature than what you'd find on reddit.

The reddit gaming community is actually toxic and cult-like, but that's another issue altogether.
