hey /adv/ i have a confession to make. i am very jealous and racist. i am not proud of this but i feel like i have no control over it. is there a way to overcome this?
i am an asian guy, kinda loser-ish, never had a girlfriend but often fantasize about my future living happily married to an asian girl. the problem is, whenever i see an interracial couple (mostly white dudes and asian girls) my jealousy just activates. i try to fight it through self talk but i can't help but feel so hurt whenever i see it. i don't even hate them in normal situations. i just hate them whenever i see that type of interracial couple.
why is this happening? can i overcome it? all of my racism and jealousy feels out of my control. i actually feel very bad that i have such racist thoughts. will this feeling go away when i have a girlfriend of my own? if i fix my insecurities, will this go away?

I'm racist as shit. It's not unjustified, though. People of different cultural backgrounds are fucking different and predisposed to certain behaviors and beliefs. There's one particular race where I live that's a bit more predisposed towards shitty things, but that's largely due to their shitty parents raising them to be idiots.

I understand where you're sort of coming from though. It's sort of a question of, "Are they really together because they love each other, or is it just because of their race?".
I used to sort of be like that, but when I really got down to the core of it, I decided that I really didn't care. Even if that was the case, it's not like it affects me. Those two people wanted to be together, so what do I care about the why.
Perhaps it's more of a tension towards society, and how it had made these things taboo and thus desirable, or maybe it's the thought of two people being racially discriminate to such a degree that they care more about their race than who they are themselves.

Discrimination isn't taught, discrimination is learned. A child could learn to discriminate. Just because you interject before they have time to form a complete understanding of a group of people doesn't mean that they aren't inherently racist. It's natural. If that doesn't influence our lives and our actions instilling innate inclinations towards certain behaviors, then I suppose the whole science of psychology is just one big old lie.

First of all let me congratulate you on being introspective enough to have figured this out. You're on your way to becoming a balanced individual (as you should be).
To me, racism usually comes from a place of fear (mostly misplaced fear of the unknown). Try to stop for a second and think about the following: could you so called "racism" be caused by any of your own insecurities ? Don't you think it might come from a place in your mind where you're afraid that there might not be a cute Asian girl "left for you" ?
I say this because I myself struggled with something like what you're describing. I once had a girlfriend that was way into interracial porn (black man on white woman). This was very difficult for me to accept since I always thought she would one day leave me for "the BBC". Therefore I had, just like you, built up a hatred towards black men who happened to date a white woman. Thing is it never happened and I ended up leaving her for entirely different reasons.

It's more racist against yourself, feeling like you aren't good enough simply because you're not white and never will be, and resentful of people 'better' than you because they seem to have it easier and don't leave you any scraps.
