My girlfriend is an RCMP officer and she volunteered to help with the Fort McMurray evacuation and left 2 days ago. The phone calls of what she describes is intense and scares me, I'm really worried about her safety.

She left without giving me much heads up, she just texted me and said she was going, came by and grabbed some things, gave me a kiss and left. I'm not really too hurt over that because that's what drew me to her in the first place.

I am worried about her safety though and she was going door to door to clear households while the city was burning, I can't make her come home sooner but I find myself checking the news for hours and hours everyday.

Any tips on how to deal with this and not be a little bitch?

this just in: she got burned alive like a witch and died cursing you for not stopping her

She's just your girlfriend, not your wife or a relative. She's replaceable.

>>>/b/

All you can do OP is support her and try not to freak out too much
>>
>>17113297
She's probably fine. I'd be proud of her.

Remember that no news is good news, and trust in her. Trust in her training and her instincts. Know that worrying helps nothing, and try to stay busy.

Sorry, auto update didn't work. I can't help but worry. It doesn't help that I feel like I should be helping in one way or another and as foolish as it sounds I feel as if I should be there and not her, like it's my duty as a man.

She's working 14-16 hours or more at a time, this is something I've never even experienced.

I've been feeling worried and insecured over this.
>>
>>17113422

You're insecure because she doing her job? and doing it for long hours? Dude what.

Worrying wont do shit, just distract yourself.
>>
She'll be fine, anon. It's not a warzone, it's a fire. RCMP are pretty fucking strict about not putting officers in any line of danger, they're not going to be anywhere near any of the possible explosion zones.

Don't feel like you need to be doing something as well, it's a fucking fire. You're not a firefighter or a cop, presumably, so lay off and don't drive yourself nuts with insipid worrying, it's doing no good.

OMG
>>
>>17113475
this is correct

op, you should be proud of her. i would be. not many women have what it takes to do that sort of thing, even if it is a relatively low risk operation. have something special waiting for her when she gets home. you should know what she likes by now, do something that will blow her away.
and yes, i am jelly of your gangster ass gf.
>>
>>17113565
I wouldn't say it's low risk, it's an 85,000 hectare fire and 80,000 people evacuated and were displaced. Entire districts burned to the ground and some are still burning.

Some people are saying it's making its own weather system and that is causing lightning.

I am proud of her and she tells me she's driving down streets at times with fire on both sides and the ash is covering everything.

But you guys are right, I get nothing from worry and support is pouring in.

She's been awake for 20 hours so far and working every minute
>>
>>17113422
If it makes you feel better she's likely getting double teamed by some firefighters.
>>
>>17113311
woah, a triple double
>>
This is a perfectly normal reaction to have. A loved one is in danger, their partner worries.

Don't overcomplicate things by thinking this is a bad reaction to have.

She sounds like a real American hero, OP.

No my gf is fine Anon

Im currently staying with her in Langley :^)

I spend 16+ hours per day on the front line of the Canberra bushfires and the Sydney Blue Mountains bush fires here in Australia.

It drove my wife crazy that I couldn't answer her calls whenever she rang and that I was too busy to keep calling home to reassure them I was OK - I did call in a couple of times per day but when operational it is not something you have time to do.

She will be fine. Fire fighting these days is highly organised and planned. Safety protocols are strict and paramount in the minds of fire zone control officers.

She just can't be at your beck and call. Yes it sucks. She has a job to do, let her do it. If you want to be part of it then join up.

My gf just called, she was escorting the SCPA to houses to rescue peoples pets that they couldn't bring with them, before that she was guiding people out of their homes.

She said not to worry and tried to use some jokes to cheer me up. I feel like such a beta but it meant a lot.

You're a fucking faggot. Edgy is so misused that cucks like you can't even interpret the meaning.

Triple dubs of truth
>>
>>17113297

Without being a little bitch?

You are a beta male.

She will never respect you, and probably eventually get bored of you.

You want /adv/?

Two options.

1) Man the fuck up and get a job right next to her on the front line or something even harder like marines, or

2) get a woman that's on your level of pussy
>>
>>17113615
I gotta say...when you're in an intense situation sometimes the thought of your little pussy boyfriend back home isn't enough to keep you from needing a little therapy right in the moment.
>>
>>17114180
Yeah, it's almost like my life as some damn significance when the clock and times perfectly aline.
