Guys, I have to break up with my gf of 4 years.
I just realized I don't really feel anything for her anymore. I kissed her the other day, and I feel nothing any more. I love her dearly, but I'm too young to settle for a passionless relationship, so it's fair to me and her if I end it? Further, this decline in passion has been counterbalance by a growing thirst for other women. I don't think I can go much longer.
How do I do it? Never broken up with anyone before, and I don't think I'll be able to stand the thought of her being upset. I think she still really loves me, but I've felt myself becoming really distant over the past few months. This isn't fair to her.

You should be ready to spend an evening talking, to give her closure.
Don't beat around the bush- say it directly. 'I don't feel passion anymore, I don't see myself living my life with you, there is not anyone else, I simply want to break up'
Spend the next couple of hours talking to her, show that you don't hate her, explain again and again that you don't feel the spark anymore, tell her what you told us that you kissed her and felt nothing.

This is life, friend. Every girl you're in a relationship with will end up like this after long enough. This is what you have to settle for. If you want to experience everything you want before walking into that, so be it. But if you're expecting to leave this for a relationship with passion that will last forever, you're sorely misguided. Personally, I think you have something good going on. 4 years is a long time. I would kill for that sort of commitment with a girl I loved.

If you really can't bear it, then I can't convince you either way, but I just want you to realize you really are walking away from something special.
How to break up with her? Talk to her for a while like the other guys were saying. Give her time to take it all in. Let her have all the time she wants to be able to let go but without letting her stay/letting her think she can stay. This might take days if she isn't very understanding. Give her all the closure she needs but try and stay strong. Who knows, she might convince you to stay, which will only result in you wanting to leave again later, or make you realize you actually want to stay.
