I got this girl's number at work and I feel awful about it. I told her I'd text her in a week when I get my new phone but what's even the point? I'll send her one text and she won't respond. Honestly I don't even care where things go with her, I just want to talk to her because she seems smart and different. I'm sick of playing this game, /adv/. I never win. It's like I'm not even allowed to be friends with half of the fucking planet. Whatever. Apparently I'm the only one who feels like this, OP is a fag, etc etc.

Truth is, I don't really feel "down" on myself about this. As much as you probably look down on me for feeling like this, it doesn't affect my self worth. How I feel is more somewhere between frustrated and disappointed.

I don't look down on you at all. I just want you to find your confidence to interact with someone you have interest in, romantic or otherwise. I was the same. Never really sought out female relationship, either way. Randomly met a girl through a good friend, just to kill an afternoon. We've been together for 10 years, married for nearly 5. You never know what's around the corner, my friend. Embrace whatever it may be.
