then don't?
i dont understand why you think it's some unconscious choice you fucking dumbass

my advice is learn to manage your anxiety. consistently remind yourself that college is place that is enjoyable, everyone is in college to better themselves (and the world subsequently). its a place you are able to fuck around and make mistakes and no body is really going to make a big deal. I dont know what your parents were like growing up, but the anxiety mindset is what you should focus on fixing.

oh and there are usually classes the first year that tell you how to do academic research / the teachers also tell you

Again dont worry B+)

reference academic books, its not that hard. just type in the topic on amazon or google and find books that are on it.

First thing: Go to class. You're paying a fuckton of money to go to this college, so why would you spend that time sleeping or fapping to ponyporn?

Second: Learn how to study. I'm not talking about memorizing a textbook, I mean knowing what you can do with the shit you learn. No one will hire you if your only skill is looking shit up on WIkipedia.

Third: Plan for your career. If you have a job in mind, find out what skills you'll need for that career, then gain them. If you have a major in mind, then find out what you can do with a degree in that major.

College is a big fucking investment in yourself. So treat it like that.

Get a fucking internship. Get to know career services your freshman year.

Doing this as a sophomore saved my college career.
