How do I talk to someone who is suicidal? Specifically over text. I've tried calling her but it's usually late at night. And I can't be there for her because she's a penpal. She says there's no money for her to see someone and get medicine so I don't know what to do, please help I'm terrified she might do someone horrible. And I know you can't help someone who doesn't want it, but if she did want to die then she wouldnt tell me these things

Yeah, it definatley sounds dodgy. I might be wrong about her trying to pocket your cash, but I can't really think of any other motivation for her to do it. And you're absolutley right in what you're saying, people who are going to commit suicide just go and commit suicide, whereas the ones who talk about it, that's usually either a cry for help or just straight up attention-seeking.

It's definitely not about money, I think a part of her is not yet ready to get better because in her mind it's a big change and that can be scary, but the part of her that wants out is getting too loud in her head.
