A lot of people here are dealing with social anxiety/shyness/introversion/loneliness/etc.
I'm thinking about starting some kind of business where my friends and I help people get over their social disadvantages.
It would either be through something like online coaching, where you email your in depth situation, and we reply back with advice and specific exercises you can do etc, OR through actual classes where you meet up with an instructor and you go about doing said exercises.
Question for you guys : Would you be willing to pay for "classes" on getting over your anxiety? How would you like something like that to be structured? Any advice for someone who is thinking about starting something like this?
>pfft I'm not paying for some shmuk to teach me social skills
What if it made the difference between sitting at home jacking to porn and dating pic related?
>>
>>17087947

No. Also you come across like an arrogant prick 2bh. Some random person 'coaching' others without any actual training or knowledge...and asking for MONEY is bullshit.
>>
>>17087947
I'd be willing to pay, yes. But, just curious, how Jew are you?
>>
>>17087956
Fag.
>>
>>17087973

Yep. Good luck in you venture you fucking idiot.
>>
>>17087947
No one ever wants to teach chicks social skills
>>
>>17087947
You have no qualifications and do more harm then good. Go pleasure yourself to anime or something.

>Would you be willing to pay for "classes" on getting over your anxiety?
Not to some dingleberry over the internet.
>>
>>17087976
Because the kind of teaching they need would be "misogyny"/

Kill yourself you fucking faggot

Kill yourself, old man. Still on 4chingle after 10 years is failure at life.

Sage does work though. Witness me

All you have to do to learn how to talk to girls is lrn2sales. Honestly, it's the same principles:
Open, Rapport, Close

So no, I wouldn't be willing to pay for it, but I would be willing to charge for it.

LEL.

going to sage you back down, this is now a downvote as well. Your shitty thread and shitty business and shitty attitude all have to sink away

Op here, back from shower.

I don't have any training or knowledge, but I did go from being shy af to pretty sociable. My social circle grew significantly and I'm able to engage in interactions that would have previously had me fucking shaking. Before I start this I'm definitely going to spend a good few months doing heavy research.
>...and asking for MONEY is bullshit
Because every service is free right?
>>17087970
Not that jew. I'd honestly be doing a lot more work if this took off compared to what I'm doing now. But what I'm doing now is pretty boring.
>>17088150
How did you get over your anxiety?
>>
Okay.

>I don't have any training or knowledge but I did go from being shy af to pretty sociable

Then stop. You're going to do more damage than good.

I broke my arm once and it healed but that doesn't make me an expert in helping other people with their orthopedic emergency.

Don't con vulnerable people out of their money so you can feel good about selling your bullshit snake oil.
>>
>>17088217
You have a point. But you should get your arm checked out.

this board is enough evidence tho show there's a market for it. i would pay for something like this. however it would have to be an online venture, perhaps skype meetings with coaches. Perhaps what you could do is create a network of people either willing to be coaches, or people looking for help where you can match them with a coach. It could work man. Good luck with any sort of business venture if you decide to go through with it.
>>
You sound just like somebody who has no idea how an actual business works nor do they have any experience with one.

If you want to help people, become a guidance counselor/life coach.

Well, the people you describe are more than often neets, they can't get a job because of their anxieties, meaning they have little to no money. It's a noble cause to help these people, but I doubt it will succeed financially.
>>
>>17087947
You'd need to make yourself look qualified/professional in some way.

I'd never meet up with some random dude and his friends and pay money to have some goobs tell me stuff that I probably already know.

If you came across as very professional with like a website or a commercial or something then I'm sure you'd get some people to bite.
>>
>>17087947
Do yourself a favor and see what else the market is like. Test the demand. An online / virtual class? No fucking way. That's like giving someone a truck full of Reese's eggs to sign up for Weight Watchers.

You could go the corporate channel. Where companies will send execs or people they want to groom for management as part of "professional training" budgetary expense.

But I will tell you from years of trying to sell into procurement and HR that unless you are friends with the owners of the companies, you don't stand a chance in hell of winning business, esp not without a fuck ton of experience.

I applaud your effort to help others, but you need to get out there and measure paid demand to see that this is not a viable option.

Heck, pitch a family member. Not to just shoot down your idea, but you need learn how to think about assessing an "idea" and whether or not it's a viable business.
>>
>>17087947
>where you email your in depth situation, and we reply back with advice and specific exercises you can do etc
Nobody will pay for this. Even videochat, it isn't good enough. Trust me.
Over skype, you can train people to interact over skype. For actual social skills, you need the face-to-face. Spatial cues, body language, physical contact (handshakes, hugs, bumping, tapping, , etc, all can only be learned properly in
>Would you be willing to pay for "classes" on getting over your anxiety?
On "getting over anxiety" (aka bullshit and platitudes), no.
On learning critical social skills, yes.

This actually exists (called "social skills training") but it's woefully under-available in most areas. You'd be filling an important gap. Psychologists and psychiatrists need more of these providers badly, in many cases they don't have access to them at all or have 6 to 12 month waiting lists.

But let's be honest, since you and your friends have no psychological or psychiatric training, don't even try. It takes a lot of training and experience to work with the poor fucked-up bastards who'll come through the door.
If you really love this sort of thing, go earn your stripes as a licensed psychotherapist and then come back to the idea. It ain't a bad one. I've considered it myself.

>>17088850
Their insurance and/or the government and/or foundations often pay. Really, you do the same thing as any other provider, fleece the 40% of patients who can pay and provide the other 60% at a big discount.
>>
>>17087947
Mods, underage, any fully developed brain can't be this fucking retarded.

OP, I develop online info-products in my spare time for $$$. I do a lot of research into niches and what not.

For some reason--as far as I can tell--the social anxiety niche is one of the least lucrative ones out there. Teaching guys how to talk to women specifically (marketed as quick gimmicky solutions)? Sure, plenty of money in that (some very steep competition tho).

But just run of the mill social skills? No market for that shit. Look around clickbank, look around the blogosphere, the social anxiety niche pulls in literally 1% of what, say, the doomsday prepper niche does.

My guess why is because there's a big correlation between social anxiety and low income. These people don't have much money to spare because they don't have skills to navigate the world too well, and what money they do have they'd rather spend on escapism.

I'm very interested in whatever you come up with tho. Maybe you can be the one to crack the market and maybe I can be of some assistance. Any way that we can get in touch outside of 4chan?

lol.

A lot of boo-hoo pajama boy losers with zero financial libido asserting that you couldn't make money doing this like they have ANY FUCKING IDEA. Please don't take my reply as another one of those.

>you don't have a psych degree so you can't help people

Get fucked. You people are the problem with this generation. You ignore other people's accumulated life experience, common sense, and conventional wisdom. You only have ears for what percieved authority figures tell you. You don't think for yourselves. You're not actually critical of the things you hear. You just look for the citation link in the web page or the framed diploma in office so you can turn off your brain and accept whatever it is as fact.
