These progress reports are bullshit anyway. One time I already got my item and the tracking code still had it under "waiting to dispatch".

You probably tried to mail or ship something abroad and paid extra for it to be followed and reported on. What the Post Office doesn't tell you is that they only do this up to the point it leaves the country. After that it's on its own (unless you attached one of those postcards for the receiver to send back). The message hasn't changed because that's all the PO has to say to you. As far as they're concerned, it's not their responsibility any more.
