I've had three proper relationships with insecure girls.
First was never going to last because she was a complete 10/10 but didn't realise it yet. I think I only had a chance because she was insecure and I was weird. I was never going to be more than a stepping stone on her path to eventual greatness as a music and creative legend. We were both young. She wasn't a slut at all, she just needed to find direction. I think she remained celibate afterwards for almost 10 years and then got married.
The next relationship was one where we basically destroyed each other. It ended with her accusing me of being mentally ill and enlisting a whole support group against me because of my supposed crimes. She started emotionally detaching and recruited a whole heap of beta orbiters to validate herself as queen of her local shitty scene. It all back fired and exploded in her drama filled face in the end though and she left the country when the whole city turned on her. She was a wannabe tattoo pin up happy with the attention from shitty magazines and bands.
The next and current is the bookish academic. History of self harm. Several minor tattoos. BDSM fetish, but nobody ever managed to pull it out of her. Limited contact with guys due to severe spaghetti. Out of all of them she is the least publicly stunning and publicity craving and this suits me fine. Everyone tells me my life is so much better and I seem more stable now. It is, just kind of boring.
She is comfy as fuck, but she is still a girl. I am unable to be too pathetic around her because her insecurity manifests itself all over the place. If I'm antisocial or bored? Problem with her. If I'm simply ill or lazy feeling? Problem with her. It is actually quite selfish to turn every detail back around on yourself and claim you now need reassurance for it. Don't deal with it sensitively? Oh right panic attack and now 10 times worse. Great.
Also she drives me mad saying she 'misses me' while we are hanging out.

She had a small one on her wrist in latin when we first met. Since we've been together she has another four done, but none of them are very big.
I think in part it relates to the self harm, as in she likes the pain and finds it cathartic, she also just likes tattoos, but she only gets them when she feels it is for something important.
We climbed a mountain to scatter some ashes so one is a small mountain. Another is a cat outline. Another is a stick figure.
I know quite a lot of tattoo artists, so I guess once we got together she was exposed to more of it.
How did I meet her? Her sister is quite a socialite and was part of a theatre production in a nearby city where she was attending university. I was playing a gig at this city. She had come out quite late to meet up with her sister after the show and her sister had done the usual flake thing and ditched her at the last minute.
The group of friends she'd tried to get to come out with her were all super lame and most of them didn't turn up or were complaining about being out so late and wanted to go. I found her having an anxiety attack outside of the venue because she wasn't sure if to hang on for her sister or just leave and her friends were all pissed off at her and they didn't usually come out, neither did she and it was all going wrong.
It was kind of corny. I asked her for a light. Remarked on her small hands as she was trying to light my cigarette. Held up my hand mine for comparison and when she held up hers there was this moment and I thought fuck it.
I took hold of it and asked her if she'd like to come backstage and see the green room. Told the bar to send over whatever food and drinks they wanted and asked them to stay for the show. I was kind of in my element desu, I'm not usually that smooth or capable, just because I was playing that night.
We carried on drinking and talking that evening and she spilt three drinks on herself because of nerves.
