I got a job interview in a hour for a department store and don't even know what im going to say to
>"tell me about yourself"
whats the best way to answer this?
People often confuse that for being a personal question. It's not. They're asking you a professional question. You should basically summarize your resume aloud. "I go to school at so and so place to study such and such, I'm working toward a career in whatever, in the past I've worked in this and that fields" and so on. If they want personal information, they'll follow up with specific questions.

This is not a super common question so don't worry. It's mainly used for people with no work experience.
Basically all they want out of you from this question is to see that you can communicate clearly and be pleasant, which is basically 98% of a customer service job.
Just smile and say something like "I recently graduated high school and I'm looking forward to getting some work experience in an area where I'll get to work directly with people. I enjoy reading and hiking and taking care of my animals."
Don't say a whole lot, definitely don't ramble. Try to avoid hobbies that sound immature, like video games or skateboarding. Avoid any future plans that might make your schedule complicated, like if you are planning to attend college downplay it.

That's wrong though. It's usually the first question in very many interviews.

this is a job at a retail store where my past job is at a warehouse...

Good, you have employment experience without being obviously overqualified. The ellipsis at the end of your reply is strange considering that this is a very good thing to include in your answer.
