So I'm a delivery driver, and I was delivering to a college

So I'm a delivery driver, and I was delivering to a college dorm, and received a 75 dollar parking ticket because I had no parking permit. The ticket said that they can hold my next registration, impound my car etc. Should i pay or worry about it? I don't think these campus guards even have that kind of authority to hold my registration etc. Has anyone had this happen before?
