How do people live interesting lives? like they seem to do barely any work and shit just comes to them? is it that they literally follow their dreams and that they take opportunity instead of being hesitant? is it that they just do their thing and dont try to be interesting and by doing that they live an interesting life cuz they dont give a fuck? Im sick of living a life i hate. Any one here live a life they love and feel fufilled?

4chan is too autistic to help you. All they will say is "Go outside"
>>
I do, but that's only because I'm still in college and not currently working. The jury is still out on whether or not I will end up living a life that keeps me happy long-term, but I am pretty focused on making it work, so I'd like to say I will.
>>
I don't think that's the norm desu. Some just continue the path the someone wiser/richer set out for them but some do take advantage of every opportunity they have.

It's really a fear of failure and/or inadequacy that stops us from doing what we want(within reason) hence the no gf problem. The failed uni stories. The dead end job complaints.

Ultimately it's a matter of isolation and execution. Compartmentalize your fears and look at what you want vs what you can do and execute the most effective plan you can based on what you deem most important(i.e. focus on 1 big thing, 3 small things, what you think will give you the most happiness vs what you think will be the best for your life).

i guess its a start tho

Find your passion and do it. That's the key.

I think that most people just enjoy socialising and the company of others, so they'll put all their effort into maintaining those relationships in order to be fulfilled. That's their passion in a sense.
>>
>>16939354
>blaming college for not living the life you want

what about all the people that are double majors and yet are still having the most fulfilling life ever? don't use college as a crutch and thinking that you'll fix it in the future is the biggest mistake there is.
>>
> is it that they literally follow their dreams and that they take opportunity instead of being hesitant?

That's literally it. They probably started doing it at a young age too and constantly applied themselves.
>>
>>16939362
Not really, that's literally their only piece of advice.
>>
>>16939376
Excuse me, but are you retarded or just illiterate?

I recommend you go back to read the question OP asked, then read the answer I gave.
>>
>>16939339
>How do people live interesting lives?
they work and put effort in

>like they seem to do barely any work and shit just comes to them?
this isn't really true unless you were born into a fuckload of money

everyone works and reaps the reward in some way, like >>16939370 said, most people love being social and outgoing so "work" to achieve that. basically means going out every night and being proactive and talkative
>>
>>16939339
>How do people live interesting lives?
I'm starting to think most people actually don't.
> Im sick of living a life i hate. Any one here live a life they love and feel fufilled?
This will sound pretty obvious but if you don't like the life you have try changing something. Sometimes it makes things better.
I can't say that I live a life I love, but after I quit my job about a month ago I definitely hate my life less, so changing things kinda works.
>>
>>16939401
>work
>proactive
>be social

Lotta words saying nothing. Sorry OP /adv/ sucks.
>>
>>16939408
i didn't tell op to be social. i told him that putting effort into shit is important and that's how people succeed - which is true

sorry to see that /r9k/ rotted your brain so much that you see those trigger words and get all reactionary
>>
>>16939402
> I'm starting to think most people actually don't.
The internet can put you in that kind of bubble. If you also live in a poverty centre then that's a double whammy.
>>
How does one change and stop hesitating? How to start? How to take action? Anyone actually ever change their own life on here from the life they hate to the life they always wanted to live? truly becoming themselves? Also how does one get over feelings of inadequacy? like i feel like if i took action it wont be enough. I try really hard to not compare myself to others because i feel like that causes me to not be myself. Is this right or should i aspire to be like people who seem more succesful/happier than me?
>>
>>16939464
in the words of shia lebouf; just fucking do it

>how does one get over feelings of inadequacy
cognitive behavioural therapy

>like i feel like if i took action it wont be enough
it will. part of that "journey" is to stop fantasising

>I try really hard to not compare myself to others because i feel like that causes me to not be myself
this is essential and absolutely the right way to think

im not poor im just average middle class in a stressful single parent home in a small suburb surrounded by some ghettos. I have easy access to Manhattan and i go there many times a week and maybe seeing all these rich kids enjoying life in their art schools n shit makes me feel bad. It also hurts because at one point i couldve gone to a really cool art hs there for free but i hesitated and took the safe way out. now im in local college as a freshman taking the safe way out again. i feel like whenever theres a fork in the road i take the safe way. In reality i truly believe i wouldve been very successful taking those risks. How do people over come the fear and opinions of others from stopping you from taking risks?
>>
>>16939464
Progress comes fast once you do something. At the same time many problems fade away because they were problems that only belonged to the stuck version of you. So one thing at a time, what did you last hesitate on and can you think of something you would live to do?

You are a product of your experiences and your environment. So if you want future-you to do better change those things. That means when ever you have the energy make a positive choice and it'll help you further down the line.
>>
Well I took the opinions of others and didn't invest in gold or bitcoins at the right time, I would be a multimillion if I did. I was also lazy at school so I didn't get into the oil industry. But accepted the set-back and chose another very good path.

I wouldn't usually take advice from the people I grew up with because they are unsuccessful idiots... if I did I would end up like them. I guess I'm quite independent. Of course if it came from knowledgable people it would probably be good advice worth considering.

Ive hesitated on college choices. I hesitated on continuing my art career and instead chose to be popular. Because of this ive lost about 4 years of practice and its one thing i regret and think about everyday. I have the opportunity to go to art skool again, or stay in local shitty college and be a business major. I honestly want to be an artist. even their i hesitate. Ive thought about between being an illustrator or fine artist and have been leaning towards illustrator because its safer.

>r9k

Never visit there but you're still writing a lotta words while saying absolutely nothing at all. Hell, I write vague bullshit like that. Observe:

>OP you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself, get /fit/ and go outside.

See?
>>
>>16939515
Stop being safe, man! You're young, this is when you can afford to take risks because you'll always have time to come back if it doesn't turn out. When you're older, you can't take as many risks. Then you'll really be regretful.

Just do it man. Take it from a 29yo loser who took the easy way every time. I regret those decisions every day. Trust your initial feelings, that's your true self. Don't trust the logical/reasoning part of your mind; it will always come up with bullshit reasons to not do something. People are bad at predicting what will make them happy, anyway. What's important isn't the reasons or the motivations, it's the action itself. Without that, all your thoughts and emotions and pain are worthless.

Every step outside your comfort zone will be painful, but that's how change happens.

Just do it.
>>
>>16939339
i guess people live interesting lives by pursuing a career in something that interests them. how much work they need to put in will depend on their finance and the line of work.

also, it depends on what you mean by interesting lives? you most likely have the resources to create the life you want, you may just not know how to use them.
>>
>>16939515
I actually research things like that to death. I would know the chance of getting a job, how to generate money freelance, what they safety nets are, what kind of house I'll buy etc. There's hardly any uncertainty left when I'm done with it. A bit of a bad habit because I read stats way into the night out of fear.

It sounds like you should look up a bit more info though. Then once you know what's up make a choice.
>>
>>16939561
i always get more info and then pick the safest least risky thing to do. Ive been like that my this ever since i like hit puberty and began trying to be liked instead of doin what made me happy. I actually pretty much stopped socializing because thats pretty much the safest thing
>>
>>16939582
You think it's about being liked? apart from any really close friends you've made, the kids in your local college will hardly remember you in 5 years. That shouldn't get in the way of making life-path choices that might determine who you are when you're 30-40.
>>
>>16939598
Well i meant at first it was about that. Then i changed to things like making money, having finacial security, the right college degree.
>>
>>16939610
Have you been doing art during the last 4 years? (maybe posting to deviantart or something). If not are you sure art school would make you happy?

Also, I think if I was doing a career solely for the money I would be targeting the huge money jobs.
