I've always heard people tell me that females make bad friends, and this year I've figured out how fucking wrong that is.
I go to college, and transferred here with no friends. Because the best parties always try to maintain an evenish boy/girl ratio (something I noticed in NYC clubs), I figured I'd make a group of female friends asap.
I did just that. The biggest benefit by far was that these female friends, who I have kept EVERYTHING very platonic with, have helped me get so many girls this year that it's absurd. They wing man for me, they introduce me to new hot girls all the time, and they are just awesome in general. I just treat them like my guy friends; I make jokes, be open and talk about things that are important to us... you know, I treat them like PEOPLE!
So yeah, if you are desperate to get girls, start by making some female friends or some gay male friends.

If you are able to treat someone like they actually matter, and understand they're human just like you, that will bleed over into successful relationships. You'll have the perspective not to get super thirsty over every girl and just think they're a hole to pound away at.

She's over that now. Why? Because I we sat down and had a direct conversation about the issue instead of beating around the bush. Good communication can solve just about EVERY issue when it comes to things like that.
