What's so great about NEET life exactly? I was a NEET for a year after dropping out of uni and it was fucking awful. Time felt like a blur, my motivation and discipline dropped like a stone, and it extended to video games and anime, too. By that I mean when you can just have your entertainment whenever you want, it loses it's value and you get tired of it fast. Even when I was working a shitty retail job I still saved up and life felt like it was moving.

What do so many people see in NEET life, and why do NEETs constantly brag about it on other boards?
>>
Probably because they're either trying to make themselves feel better about being the most useless members of society, or they genuinely believe that they're superior to others. Not mutually exclusive, btw.

This guy right here. They're delusional and trying to make themselves feel better.

I'm currently a NEET of 1 year 1 month and I'm fed up. Depression and laziness took hold andI'm feeling exactly like you described. About to snap each boring day and looking for any mcjob.

Dunno how people do it for more than a year. Had a buddy NEET it up for three and I'd go mad doing that shit. I'm already going crazy with what little spending money from savings I have. I try not to care about others opinions but when you literally say "I don't do anything" there's that moment where you realize you're pretty much being looked down on.

You did it wrong anon
>be me, neet for 3 years
>read books
>learned how to play the harmonica, got better at clarinet
>Took up gardening
>remodeled my bathroom and organized my shed
>studied more than I did in school
>learned how to cook
>took up some hobbies because I could

It really helped me out a lot in sorting my life desu
I had the time to do whatever the hell I wanted and take it slow, having absolutely no obligations to anyone
I miss it a bit

NEETs dont really become NEETs because they wanna be NEETs. no one really says its 'great' they just fall into it and that becomes their comfort zone. its hard and anxious to start new things. we generally do because we are forced into them, one way or another.

but when you fall into the NEET hole there isnt much of a reason to get out. they also say its a blur, and they dont pretend to have motivation, they know why they are neets.

if anyone is bragging about an aspect of their NEETness on a 4chan board, it is at most them just talking about what piece of it is a silver lining. what little 'up' they've had.

its kinda like when you work all day in construction. you brag about coming home to a hot meal your wife cooked. your life still sucks. but you got a silver lining.

so what you are saying is that you were just a NE. not in employment.

I get bored having a couple of weeks off school, even when I'm working on the weekends. There's only so much socialising I like to do, and there's only so much money I have available to spend.

There was a whole NEET thread here for some time. I wonder how did it die?

>>16916168
You mean the NEET generals that we had going for at least a year?
>>
NEET for almost four years now and I want out. I don't know what route to take, though: therapy, schooling, a job of some kind? I wake up with absolutely zero motivation, so I need to work on that too. Fuck.
>>
>>16916185
Yes, that one. I haven't seen it for a while.

As much as I loathe NEET's I always forget I was one for a year. It was a little different in my case though. I worked since I was 15 till 23 then had a breakdown. Flipped out and quit my job. I had $30,000 in the bank and just fucked hookers and went to the bar every night. Spent $20K that year. Go pretty burned out and went back to work. I think I got whatever NEET'ing out my system in that year off. I didn't take a vacation for 5 years till last year I took a 3 week vacation from work which was fine with me. I could never go back to that NEET shit. I hate myself for many reasons. I had grown lazy. I had burned through most of my savings. I didn't have anything to show for that entire year. That was the worst part of it. I've always said I'll never be broke or fat. I'll do anything and everything in my power to not let that shit happen. It's hard work but that's life.

What time are you waking up? Enough sleep?

I'm getting my shit straightened out and getting my sleep schedule then diet in line boosted my energy and mood. Work on the little stuff and force yourself outta bed.

You won't scale a mountain in one day. Small steps.
>>
>>16916461
I wake up around 10 AM (with no alarm) and go to bed around 2 AM. I should probably go to bed around midnight or 1, and set an alarm for 8 or 9 AM.

Hypothetically the NEET lyfe is better than many other lifestyles because you don't have to waste your time with shitty work you don't enjoy and don't really gain/learn anything from as a person just to have enough money to survive.
Instead you can spend all your time pursing your passions and enjoying yourself.
The problem is this requires you to be a virtuous person and have passions in the first place, whereas most /r9k/ NEETs are just colossal fuckups with no idea what to do with their lives.

>>16916040
Their post makes it sound as if they weren't in education or training, either. Yeah they were learning, but probably not in college or anything, probably just for fun from books and websites.

It was a NEET/Shut-in thread. Pegasus trolling it and /adv/ getting a lot more terrible were the causes of it's demise.
>>
Nothing, it's good to have the upper hand with you NEETs, so many of us support the NEET lifestyle to keep you in check.

Please do not hate us, as we just don't want you to over saturate the market just yet.

You too, shall make it.

Just, not yet.

Cute, I'm after one of the girls from /adv/, as she's using the password I gave her for one thing on all my accounts and changing either the e-mail address or the password.

I believe I'll find her eventually and put her in prison.
>>
I make good money and live on my own but all I want to do is to never leave my bed, watch anime, and read visual novels all day. I'm envious of those NEETs and it won't be until I'm 45 that I can save up enough money to have the lifestyle.
>>
>>16917584
Was it actually productive? Or just a circlejerk?
>>
I'm dreading the summer because if I don't find a job I'll go into full NEET mode and probably end up killing myself because my depression is worse than ever.
