I'm 18, a senior in high school, and my parents found out I smoke weed today.
My dad was worried it's going to take my IQ down and asked me kindly to just quit for now.
My mom was brought to tears and freaked the fuck out.
They took my $200 Pax 2 and I really want it back.
What do I do? My parents are the most unreasonable people out there, honestly. I have real good grades and shit and their also worried about the consequences if I get caught. What can/should I say?

Just stop smoking for a bit at least while you're still in high school and living with your parents. You're 18, if you're going to college then you can toke all you want there. Or if you're living with your parents just explain to them that you're an adult, and that it's your decision to make.

Well they are right about how it's really retarded of you to be risking legal consequences if it's not legal where you live.
And your brain hasn't finished developing very important areas yet, so regular use of any kind of psychoactive drug isn't a good idea. That's why the drinking age is 21, as that's the EARLIEST you can say a brain is pretty much fully developed (though science agree it's more like 25. Car rental places got it right).
Ultimately, it's their house and their rules. They have authority until you move out.

This OP. I'm 19, started smoking regularly three years ago. Got caught a few times and officialy I've stopped smoking. Still do, but full ninja mode when I'm sure I won't get caught.
For now you're sorry af to them. Let this just be a bad episode for your parents. Don't try to prove em wrong, it won't work.
