I'm in my first year of university, I've made no proper friends even though I don't try to look threatening or creepy or anything. My flatmates all seem to want to spend time with other people. I thought I got on well with my lab partner but she never wants to sit next to me, even if she's alone and so am I. What have I done wrong? How can I make myself more approachable? It seems like people have established themselves into groups already, and I've become 'that creepy guy'. I don't think I'm ugly enough to avoid (I've had multiple proper girlfriends and a one night stand here), what could it be?

Randomly say Hi to anyone you see that's maybe alone or close to you. It will be obvious if they don't want to talk. If they do then happy days, introduce yourself, ask them about interests etc. You don't seem like a bad guy anon, you just seem confused about socialising.
