Everything in moderation. And I think fapping with your imagination is wise for a number of reasons. Fapping too much makes me lazy and makes me content with being passive.
For me, a regimen of self improvement and aggressively dating multiple women for a bit just seemed to make porn less interesting. I got to a point where I didn't need to fap, because I could just go down a list and have a girl over to drain my balls any night of the week.
I'm also much more comfortable with monogamy and commitment to my current gf. I was very unhappy with my ex's sexual neglect and pretty much fapped and drank every night to cope, and got very hung up on stupid porn stuff. In hindsight it made me realize how awful the porn industry is for a lot of men... if you enjoy in moderation there's nothing wrong with it, but I have to believe many millions of men spend years using it to dull the pain of sexual frustration and loneliness.
I don't think porn should be banned, but there's really nothing good about it.

I'm not so much addicted to it as I am desensitized to it because of how much of the shit is on 4chan at any given point in time. I would suggest doing what I'm going to do and just straight up stop going to websites that have any type of porn for a while and see if that helps things.
