Can anybody tech savvy tell me if replacing this screen is possible? I stepped on it earlier this week and bought a new latop but I'd rather keep the $600 that it cost instead. It works if I plug it into an HDMI cord attached to my TV. Thanks.
See if you can find a duplicate laptop with missing parts but a functional screen or just the screen. Then hire someone to replace the LCD screen for you.
You can buy replacement screens. Putting them in can be a bitch but not too hard. Type your model in Google with "replacement screen"
Or take it to a cellphone repair place they usually can replace screens for you
short answer: yes
less short answer: it's possible if you can find the replacement parts. probably more effective to hire a repair shop to take care of it. a lot of newer laptops are sealed shut from the inside (can't just unscrew them and open them) and that makes it pretty challenging to get in for repairs if you don't have the proper tools and skillset
that being said, if you don't consider yourself tech savvy (even moreso the case if you have a laptop with hard to access innards) you'll probably fuck it up
