It is because in real life people honestly don't give that much of a fuck, at least the people that matter. People just blame their lack of success with women on it because it's easy to single out and blame their problems on something they can't change.
My dad is short, my grandpa is short, my two uncles are short. I'm short. Each and every one of them have found fantastic wives, some of them have found multiple amazing partners. No one is saying it's an advantage being short but it's so easy to make up for by having a half decent personality and not being fat and ugly.

I've never measured mine, but 5'6" or possibly 5'5" estimate here. My confidence is non-existent. My uncle was giving me advice today in the usual "here's how you get a girl" talk, and I just wanted to say that my height has completely destroyed my confidence in that regard, but I didn't.
