I'm worried I'll never make anything of my life. I'm going to school and working but I haven't decided on any major. I dread the idea that I'll pick something I find interesting but eventually grow to hate after repetition.

That guy looks comfy as fuck.
But what do you want advice or reassurance?
Just choose what you find interesting now, if you regret it later then you can always change then.
David Mitchell didn't decide to be a Comedian until he was already in university and Harrison Ford was a carpenter before he became an actor.
>>
Once you become genuinely frightened, you'll confront the opportunity of risking everything for the sake of accomplishment. You'll even risk your happiness. This is because you'll also realize that there are worse things than hating what you once loved.

Sounds to me like you need to think about a career in carpentry. It never gets old.

I'm uneasy with the idea of not using my college investment for my whole life but that's kind of stupid of me now that I think about it.

>>16793062
Whoa dude, nice one.

My high school shop teacher said that I would never be a good craftsman, I'm just a sloppy motherfucker.

Someone's bitter.

Don't take >>16793066 seriously anyway. He's been shitposting like crazy the past few days.

Why not just go work, and then go to college later if you want to?

>He's been shitposting like crazy the past few days.

I've only been shitposting carpentry. Actually cheat on my BF from time to time, and it's nbd

I'm starting to hate my job in retail. I want to make more money and do lower pressure work. I also feel that getting a degree/higher prestige job is important for my identity.
>>
>>16793117
High prestige like Master Carpenter? Everyone gives mad props to a person who is a true expert in working with beautiful and natural wood.
>>
>>16793127
Like I said, buddy, I'm not cut out for that kind of work so just give it a rest will ya? I have respect for the craft and admire those who choose to dedicate their lives to it but I'm just no good with accurate measurements, structural integrity, or visual aesthetics. I would be a walking disaster of a carpenter.
>>

It's a fair point, sorry to go on like that. You're right - different folks for different strokes, and carpentry is not your thing. But in that case, you should look for a niche you can really dominate. Every man and his dog is trying to be the next great structural engineer (yawn). Find a sector, no matter how tiny, that you care about enough that the effort necessary for expertise would be a walk in the park for you.
