I will be receiving a sum of money around the 4700 range by the end of this week and I'm considering some envestments and purchases.
1. Considering buying my first laptop, any advice on something around the $700 range?
2. I'm 23 what would be a good investment to place some money in that will appreciate?

Depends on where you are from, investment in immobilities is almost always safe. you'll need more money for that though... Maybe stock market for starters? Just get background info before doing anything

Sure if you like pissing your money away on something that's already obsolete. Use 1500 to build a good desktop. It'll last longer and keep up better with changing standards.

Buy guns. They're easy to maintain and will most likely gain value over time.
Cars and electronics are the opposite so limit your spending. Buy the cheapest laptop on ebay that looks like it'l do what you need. Thinkpads have a reputation for being very robust.
Thank you all for the input, the guns idea has crossed my mind recently I may look into that tomorrow.
