The best way to clean your ear is with your elbow.

With your head tilted sideways, pour hydrogen peroxide into your ear canal. Let it sit for at least five minutes. Tilt your head and drain it into a napkin.

Seriously though: the elbow thing is a common saying among otorhinolaryngologists and audiologists because you just shouldn't put anything inside your ears. Trust me, I'm majoring in audiology, go to a doctor if you want your ears clean.

If its just wax you can buy drops that loosen it up. Then also buy what is called an ear syringe. It basically used to squirt water into your ear which clears out all the softened wax. Also it won't damage your ear drum like a solid object. In fact for wax this is exactly what your Dr will do for you.

There's a machine that sucks ear wax out of your ear. My dad bought one and he thought it was pretty cool
