do you regret your career path

I will be home a week alone and I'm scared, what do?
>>

No, it fits my personality pretty well. I'm an introvert with passable public speaking skills. The long hours don't bother me and my lack of empathy (a personal weakness) lets me get passed some of the "bad" things people might see practicing law.

I do get lonely sometimes though, law sometimes makes it hard to develop relationships with others who aren't lawyers because the hours.

If I carry a knife on me concealed for defense (which is illegal in my state) but am later forced to use it, can I get into trouble
>>
Should I patent my website or say fuck it and launch? There's so many ways to steal design, I figure why bother.

How do lawyers view the medical profession?

Because we generally don't have favorable opinions of you... Our 'professional' brothers

Depends on how you use the knife. If you use it within the scope of self defense (don't pull a knife on someone giving you a high five)...you won't get in trouble for using the knife.

DA can still cite you for carrying it, but it would take a special sort of DA to do that.

Generally Lawyer's understand why other professions have a negative opinion of us. However until you've read a lot of caselaw its hard to understand why we can be a pain in the ass.

But generally the legal profession and judges give A LOT of deference to the medical community. People who don't study the law might not see it, but judges do a good job at not trying to be doctors.

Specialty / Jurisdiction?

Fledging paralegal doing law school at the moment, any tips?

CA, white collar crime/business torts

Grades matter but don't let them define you. Exam test 1/4 of the material which represents .0000000001 % of substantive law and takes into consideration 0 research and communication skills....the most important

Too bad grades are the biggest determination as to whether you get a good job at graduation or a shit one.

Biggest problem with the field of law. For every law review genius who can memorize a restatement and recite it word for word with perfect skills. You get hundreds of students with top grades who memorized a class outline, could type 120 wpm, and yet lack the creativity that actually makes great caselaw.

Not really. The biggest problem with hiring is assuming that because someone went to a higher ranked school, they're a smarter and better candidate.

If I'm a recruiter, I'm not hiring anyone who doesn't have top grades. If someone doesn't have the dedication and work ethic to get good marks, they're not going to magically have it when they work for a firm or wherever

hey lawman, i've got some kind of gastro or food poisoning and milo & otis made me cry when it came on the TV. What do you do when you get sick and can only really wait it out?
>>
How big a part does charisma play in being a lawyer? Is it enough to get your facts straight and present them as is, or is it essential to be able to present them similarly to TV lawyers?
Basically, is being a loudmouth as vital as media makes it seem?

What also happens in popular culture is that lawyers bend the truth ridiculously far. Is there any truth to this in real life? Is it possible for "honesty" and "lawyer" to mix?

I'm considering the field of work myself, but perhaps I'm too quiet and naive to not make all those years of training a waste.
>>
If I get arrested and no one else knows, what do I do? Do you just say "I want to talk to a lawyer"? When, like in the car, at the station after I'm locked up etc? Do they get you a court-appointed lawyer or do they give you the chance to call someone?

Also, suppose I know of a lawyer, but I haven't memorized his number and they've confiscated my phone?

What are some of the legal pitfalls of producing pornography, other than the obvious ones like filming illegal things.
