so my friend that i lost touch with for 6 months hung out with me last night and he snorted some shit out of a pill and then passed out.
so i drove to his house (Very close) and told his mother about it
basically it all ended up with him getting caught by his parents about having a drug habit
when i got home just know i realized he didn't bring his drugs with him to leave, and now i have a fucking heroin pill in my room
should i just give this to his dad as proof in the morning? it's 2am and im tired but i feel like i should set an 8am alarm just to let him know, this shit is pretty incriminating and scary

Junkie here. The good thing about your friends situation is that he's not been on gear for very long - there's a few different ways of getting it in to you, and snorting it is the least effective way possible, and if he can still nod from snorting then he doesn't have much of a tolerance. Hopefully his parents will get the required reading done rather than just flipping out - what he really needs is support. People's knee jerk reaction of screaming and shouting then threatening this and that generally just reinforces to the user that "everything is shit", and then he wants to make himself feel better, so he goes and gets more gear.
As for the cap you're holding, flush it down the toilet. From a moral standpoint if you give it back to him you're enabling his habbit. There's also a risk that he has told/will tell his parents he left it there, and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they'll call the cops (they're likley to be pretty emotional right now, which can lead people to do some crazy things). Just having it might get you done for possession, and having it with the intent to give it to another person - even if it was theirs to start with and no money changes hands - could get you done for possession with intent to supply (results may vary by country of course). Given tonight's events I wouldn't have thought he's going to pop round and ask for it back anyway, but if he does just tell him you don't know anything about it.

I'm a junkie and seriously telling his family was a really fucked up thing to do. Even if you wanna help him you should've gone about things differently. We can't tell a lot of our friends or family about our use even if we want help because of people like you. He thought he could trust you but obviously he was wrong. He'll forever be associated with heroin by his family even if he cleans up. People get disowned by their families for shit like this. You shouldn't have just thrown him under the bus like that.
