I have a friend who took out a cash loan from my dad for $750 for a shitty used car.
My dad's pretty well-to-do and can be too nice sometimes, so he's not doing anything about it that my friend gave him $50, and not a penny since (this was months ago)

So are you asking if your dad is in any way liable? Or that you want him to repay the debt? Or ways to get your "friend" to get caught by the police?
Which ever it may be your friend probably isn't thinking of paying him back, nor does it look like he'll even have the money.

No hes not, but at the same time hes completely out $700. For your friend he'll definitely lose the car, possible jail time or community college, and a pretty huge fine.

You still call him "friend"... wtf mate... I hope you have something on paper about this loan. Bring him to small claims court.. hope that he is dumb enough to drive the car there... tell a cop whats up while in court. Win or lose he is getting some tickets.
