As a white person who just got back from traveling all over the U.S. It is honestly safer than every other place, stay away from North Minneapolis at night, avoid black lives matter protestors. There aren't many black people here, it's basically Canada on American ground.

Suburban/small town Minnesotafag here. You'll be fine. There are racist redneck white people here, but Minnesota is almost on par with Canada for politeness, so even if someone is prejudiced, their Minnesota Nice usually kicks in before they act or open their mouths. I will say, if you wear traditional Muslim garb, you will probably get a chillier reception; but if not, you'll probably get treated more like a white person here than a lot of places. Be prepared to be one of only a very few nonwhite faces though. You will see a few refugees and some Hispanic folk, but most towns outside of the Twin Cities area are 90% white and up.
