Holy shit /adv/, I'm scared. Everything is temporary. Everyone will die. There's going to be days where I have to attend my parent's funerals given that I don't die before then. How am I supposed to enjoy life with this shadow lingering behind me? Knowing that death is inevitable?
>>
>>16632479
Worrying about it won't make anything better.
>>
>>16632485
But I can't forget it.
>>

Earth is just a pit stop. Make the best of it while you're here, that's all one can do.
>>

Why not spend every day having fun as if it's your last instead of spending it in fear? Try something new, tell people how much you love them, pet some animals. You might not get to again. Let the fear of death motivate you to make every day you live worth living. Eventually, you'll stop being scared.
That's what I've told myself, and it makes me feel a lot better about things.

Death is inevitable. I could die tomorrow, or perhaps a few minutes from now. Hundreds, if not thousands, die on the road each year for example. Kind of scary thinking about it though, right? How we are control these bodies and it's all going to be rotting flesh in at least a hundred years from now. But don't worry, since these thoughts will probably be forgotten about by morning or a day from now.

While death is scary, it's more scary in that I worry about what will happen to my loved ones. In the end, I know I'll be spending eternity with God as I gave my life to Christ so death isn't that bad (besides the pain). I'd suggest looking into Jesus Christ if this interests you.
>>
its easy to say worrying about it wont change anything for the good, but thats all there is to say. you can worry so much and burn yourself out on caring about life if you want to be accepting in that way, but i wouldnt really recommend it

you really should enjoy it as much as possible because it is very temporary
>>
>>16632479
The more time you spend thinking about this is time you could have spent living. Have your little freak out and then stop thinking about it. Start living while you can.

Become a biogerontologist and work on curing aging. Then work on curing everything else. Fear not brave traveller. The singularity is near.

I just think it sucks for the chick. She's thinking she's met someone she can have a meaningful relationship with and all it means is that this asshole wants to use her so he can look "normal". Just embrace your gayness, nobody gives a shit. And the people that do are fucking retarded.
>>
>>16632567
such a fucking cop out, you people are afraid to confront your mortality desu
>>
>>16632611
why are you posting that here?
>>
>>16632479
Have you considered that you die everytime you go to sleep?

I mean, your brain is just like a computer and when you go to sleep, all data gets purged from your RAM, while saving your thoughts and memories. The you that wakes up tomorrow is just a you that is thinking that is you.
>>
>>16632643
Semantics aside, Jesus taught the same shit as Buddha and true followers of their messages have no choice but to confront their mortality head on.

Read something desu
>>
Who cares? I mean you think that everything is temporary but you're still getting all emotional and caring about something. I don't think you've worked it through in your head.
>>
>>16632479
the world is boring. its all the same. One day you will realize that you are stuck in a loop. All days are the same. You are a hamster running in a wheel. When that happens it does not matter anymore if you are dead or alive, to you anyway. Let the other people run in the wheel.

Do mushrooms

Realize youve died an infinite amount of times, and you will forever.
>>
>>16632479

It's 2016 bro, last long enough and we'll probably be able to upload our brains into robot bodies. Then it won't matter!
>>
>>16632479
Death is inevitable, but is that so bad? What's wrong with dying?

Check out the movie It's Such a Beautiful Day if you want to feel better about mortality.

Not OP and I've never done mushrooms but I know exactly what this means
>>

same question literally every human has asked since we first developed the mental capacity to do so

let me know when you figure it out
>>
look at it this way, you were already dead for 13 billion years before you were born, another 13 billion after you die wont be so hard
>>
>>16632643
OP's uncomfortable question is literally the reason religion exists

Energy cannot be destroyed, only take new formations.

Why is death necessarily bad? Pic related believed that death was a place free from fear, anger, and other passions. Ultimate freedom from self.

That doesn't sound so bad at all.
>>
>>16632643

People are so scared of dying they've created things to help them cope. (AKA religion)

You can choose to be afraid or you can choose to masturbate to deathmetal zebra porn. Those are the only two real options actually.

Because it's okay.

It's Okay.

It's okay that your parents die.
To die is not bad, and one day you will follow them.
It's just the end of your meat bag life, and 100 years really isn't that long, so don't worry.

Because it's okay, and it's natural, and we're all going to take that plunge alone whether we like it or not.

Seeing that shadow shouldn't frighten you, just remind you. Remind you to spend time with all the meat bags you love and tell them you love them now just in case you don't recognize them on the other side.

But it's all okay.

You should calm down and take a deep breath. You've just had an epiphany that everyone has eventually, but for better or worse it will probably fade until you become numb to it, and then resurface later when you are old or sick and near death. In the meantime just relax and accept your fate. It's not as though there's any preferable alternative anyway.

You have maybe a good 80 or so years to go if you're lucky and careful, which is four times as long as you've lived already.

Best episode so far.
Great series.
>>
you're right, and it's ok
I'd imagine that life after you hit 100 would be more painful that enjoyable. most of the people you knew would probably be dead (and the assholes would still be alive with our luck), your body wouldn't be up for moderate activities, and you'd be so out-of-touch with society by that point that you'd be a pariah.
I'd use that knowledge of your approaching eternity to live a full life: eat well, stay in shape, bang sluts, make good friends. if you spend every waking moment in your life worrying about what happens after death, you'll live a shitty life. Plus, you won't know when you'll pass: it could be tonight, next week, 20 years from now, etc.. you probably won't even know when you pass, it'll be like falling asleep

My mother died about a year ago. I didn't. It was terrible, but I'm still here and I think about it less now.
