In any case I'm not some world traveler but going into a hotel isn't a big deal, lots of people always coming and going for various reasons, no one keeps track of all that.

If you mention that you have more than two people to them directly they are obligated by management to refuse you service. But if you rent a room for 2 and it ends up being that more people sleep there, there's nothing they can do about it. It's not like they have "room patrol."
