Was using 4ch.be site and saw the phrase "image hash". What does image hash mean?
you upload a picture and the server skims though the image file and takes out little parts of it and messes around to create a manageable little string of characters that it compares to all the other hashes in a big list it keeps and if yours matches another it tells you to fuck off.

Basically an algorithm is applied to a file that generates a code from the file/picture
This unique code is know as the hash
Different files have different hashs
However, if I have 2 of the same image, or 2 of the exact same file (ie, I copied it to another folder or etc)
They should have the same hash (since the algorithm acts the same way on it)
Thus, hashes can be used to check if duplicate images are being posted, or to search for particular images by hash, rather than having to use an image recognition tool
