Canadafag here. Are winter-tires worth it? First winter since I've had to start commuting by car regularly. I drive a Mitsubishi Outlander, and getting the tires is pretty expensive. My parents have never bothered, except my dad's driving skill's are god-tier unlike mine which are meh. I don't have an opportunity to test em either.

All season tires are fine unless you're driving A LOT of unplowed roads. Just drive slow and you'll be fine.
