This is absolutely more of a personal preference.
Personally I love skinny fat/average guys. With clothes look pretty normal but have a little soft belly. I also like when they have some body hair. But anywhere from skinny-chubby is fine. Mostly extremes like muscular, obese, or skeletal that I am not into at all.

As a skinnyfit guy (between skinny and otter) this thread probably should make me feel validated but I'm actually a little disappointed. Being skinny has its drawbacks and a well-maintained athletic physique is simply functionally superior. Does that not have any weight at all? I'm not super weak but it's pretty emasculating when I'm outperformed by a stronger and fitter guy when carrying heavy loads for example. I think that men inherently have muscle on them. There are exceptions of course but I would say you're skinny, but not some extreme exception body type. Which means if you ate more you'd probably gain weight/be able to build muscle fairly easily.

Healthy food is very cheap. There are lean cuts of beef that are cheap. Buy some groudn beef. Beans are cheap. Onions, potatoes, all very cheap. Make chili.
