My brother is a bio-engineer but he got that as his masters, his original degree is in biology.

He works at some huge Biotech company now. I don't know how competitive it is, but some people do make it out of school with a job

There will be need for them, but it is very specialized major that more often that not is a feeder major for grad school.

Are you willing to compete for 4 years against doctor wannabes who can understand bio, engineering, and complex math?
