I bought a new hard drive. Installed it properly. I received this message during my attempt to install Windows XP? How is it possible I have a boot sector virus? How to fix this issue. I'm stumped. Thanks.

your master boot record got corrupted

Unless there's a specific reason you need Win XP you should install Linux Mint or reformat hard-disk, or reinstall XP
