Why are women more religious than men? I have nothing against religion or people who are religious. But I find it weird that women seem to be more passionate about practising a creed that discriminates against them. I don't know much about Hinduism, Judaism or Sikhism but I know for sure that there are passages in the Bible and the Quaran that state clearly that women are below men.
Most people don't actually read or follow the bible. Religious people pick and choose what they want to accept from it.

Is just, quite simply, wrong.
When you're theistic you believe in a god. There are plenty of people out there who don't conform to an established religion but maintain that there's "something" out there. There are also people out there who take scripture word for word, and if it's in the bible then that's how it's got to be.
The majority of religious people, in my experience, are the average of these two individuals. They believe "something" is out there, and their idea of what that "something" is has been inspired by what they've heard at their church and how they believe that "something" has touched their lives.
The book, for what seems to be a lot of religious people, is the equivalent of Wikipedia for research. Its a great place to start and take inspiration from, but there are a few things in there that are just plain wrong.

I think they might be a little more expressive, more likely to post something soppy with god in it when someone dies. Maybe a little more likely to keep their disbelief a secret. But really I think there's hardly any difference.

I have also noticed that people who occupy a lower status in society seem to be religious. I suspect part of it is that it's a comfort to them after dealing with the daily frustrations of being second class citizens, but I have no facts to back it up.
In my experience women are more likely to be drawn to religion and mysticism, while men are more likely to be drawn to conspiracy theories.
Both are irrational, but makes the person feel validated in different ways. Believing in angels or homeopathy or astrology makes women feel safe and loved and secure.
Believing the j00s or the illuminati or the SJWs or whatever controls everything and I'm the only one smart enough to see it makes men feel special and intelligent and superior to their peers.
