It's one thing if you want to have an original name, and it's not like Lennon is that common, but I just don't personally think it's a good decision to get too creative with names. It's something that's going to follow your child until after you're dead (unless they change their name).
My parents gave me what I consider to be a white trash name, and I recently had it legally changed to something similar but more dignified. It was a huge pain in the ass and I wish they had more sense.

Personally would not name my child after someone famous. It would give the child a sense of "Gee I have this name, now I have to live in this person's image, whatever it may be".
And it's highly likely that the child may want to grow up THEIR way or do THEIR thing, not what their name pre-dictates for them to do. I say give a child a normal name with a comforting fall-back nickname along with it. No special snowflake shit. And let them choose their own destiny.

I just had a girl and named her Sabriel.
All of the family members pronounce her name differently but I used to work at a daycare and I know its as simple as telling the teachers the name and how to say it. Once she learns to talk she can correct the relatives who all want to put their own spin on her name.
