What can I do with my commerce degree, with major in Economics? Distinction average. Got no idea what to do with it though.

I did a double degree but my can't find any work with my other degree unfortunately (Law)

You're in the same boat as most college graduates now. There's not enough jobs, and too many people. The amount of jobs keeps on decreasing with the advancement of technology.

College today is basically like asking "Let me get in tens of thousands of dollars worth of debt, and be completely unable to get a job with my degree".

You majored in Economics didn't you? Isn't that ironic. The economy is shit, and eventually it will become so shitty that we will need to have Universal Basic Income, maybe just go flip burgers and wait for that?

What the fuck? Law is very specialised

Work in a bank?
Just keep applying for jobs and see if you get anything. The job market is competitive as fuck. It's better to be underemployed than unemployed.

Adding to this, apply for all jobs that requires a bachelor's degree and hope that one company will hire you

I've got casual manual labor work, a small online business and no debt. So not quite burger flipping but almost.

Its fucked. There's such limited opportunities for Law grads here in Aus at the moment. Most people with Law degrees don't end up pursuing a legal career anyway. And those that want to can't. Even graduating with Honors isn't enough to get your foot in the door.

Should I just apply for anything and everything and hope to move up from there?

>casual manual labor work
What is it exactly?
>There's such limited opportunities for Law grads here in Aus at the moment
I thought the employment aspects are good? I have an Aussie friend who plans to major in Law and she's in year 12 at the moment.
>Should I just apply for anything and everything and hope to move up from there
Yes. Apply for secretary-tier jobs at Law firms. Hopefully you will not end up at Starbucks. I know an Aussie journalism major who ended up at Starbucks.

>casual work
Picking/packing in a warehouse, unloading containers etc. Dead end job but reasonable pay per hour.

>job prospects in Law
Massive oversupply of law grads at the moment. If you google "law grad australia oversupply" you'll see loads of articles on it. There was even some thing where people were paying $20k to try and get some sort of internship until it was shut down. Its getting that desperate for some people. I'd not recommend your friend pursue Law unless she doubles it with something else, and is doing it mainly for interest.

OP, if you can't find employment with a dual degree in law and economics, there are two options:
1) You're a complete assburger who makes a horrible impression during job interview and you need to work on your social skills
2) The scope of your search isn't wide enough. With those two degrees you should well be able to get into any kind of lower/middle management position. Think of shit like being a supermarket manager and stuff like that.

Did you do Law out of interest? She said there were shortages?
>>
>>16502918
You're right I need to just expand my search wider than just purely Law grad positions or similar. I was wanting to practice Law (I've done post grad to be a qualified lawyer), but its just pushing shit uphill trying to get a spot.

>>16502928
I did Law because I was interested in it, but I enrolled before it became apparent to everyone that there were going to be too many grads. Seems everyone had the same idea I had.
Shortages in positions available, definitely not a shortage of graduates.

I thought you have a job now?
Same thing just happened to Pharmacy here in Hong Kong. Adios Pharmacy jobs.
