Why do people say that you can't judge a person based on how they look? Noticing the small details such as how they wear their hair, what clothes they choose to wear and what colors they are, how they present themselves overall, their body language, their facial expressions and features, and even their tone of voice can tell you a thousand details about a person. Reading in between the lines and having good deductive skills can be really handy in getting to figure out who a person is. Sure, you may not be able to know the person you just met in-depth, but you can sure as hell figure out some traits they have solely based off their appearance. Why do people deny this? Why do they say that "it's impossible to judge a person based off how they look." The only explanation I can come up for with this is that the person judging is noticing the things I mentioned but making negative judgments instead of just observational neutral judgments. So people just say that you can't judge people based on looks is a way to comfort people into thinking that even a girl or a guy looks like a huge bitch, and sounds like a huge bitch, they're probably really lovely on the inside.

eh this is about their hair colour and stuff.

Only a fool would treat a ho like a lady.

because a 'judgement' tends to indicate being final and influences the way you approach them. thats why you see a 'judge' who decides whether or not you go to jail, or pass or fail, or whatever.

you answer your own question like the other anon said, but you are asking the wrong question.

there are many times where someone looked like a bitch and they ended up being my best friend. or really nice and turned out to be fucking retarded.

you should take into account how someone looks, but you should still give them a sense to present themself before you 'judge' them.
>>
I always judge people by how they look.

But that impression is never final, I'm always open to change my first impression.
In most cases it doesn't change, but in some cases I'm really glad i got to know a few people better than my first impression (went from "I dont like these people" to good friends).

The point is, most people are not as simple or shallow as they look like. And learn about this, you have to get to know them.

Good stuff said. Just a few things to add.

>because a judgment tends to indicate being final and influences the way you approach them

It does not end up being final. Also, take in the fact that people don't just shun a person because of one small mental judgment. However, I do agree that even small mental judgments do impact the way you approach a person, whether it be with caution or open arms. But in no way is a judgment absolute unless that person has proven to fulfill the judgment made.

>there are many times where someone looked like a bitch and they ended up being my best friend. or really nice and turned out to be fucking retarded.

Again, judgments are not final. Resting bitch face for example does exist, and people can't change it, but no one can blame those people for approaching those with resting bitch face with caution. It's human nature to observe, we all observe and some of us are too scared to admit it. A lot of people have thought about someone they met as being disgusting or unapproachable. Even I'm guilty of this, it's similar to what you described. I'll say that yes, looks can be deceiving definitely, but don't ever doubt your instincts.

>you should take into account how someone looks, but you should still give them a sense to present themself before you 'judge' them.

Most of the time yes. But in extreme cases, say for example if the person has oddly dyed hair, and is dressing up like they're the main attraction of a gay pride parade, I won't even approach that person. So, this statement is accurate, but there's still that margin that's constitutes those extreme outliers.

Also, the most important note that we can't leave out here is, "Does the person who's judging have good enough deductive skills to the point where they can make decent judgments solely based off appearance, or are they just spewing random biased shit based off what they see?" There's a fine-line between observing and just being a cunt.

>you can't judge a person based on how they look?

This is more about whether or not ugly people can be kind and attractive people malicious

This suck for me. During the years I got more and more anxious and I'm a total social reject at this point. I'm always on the side of a group, always alone. Nobody even tries to approach me. Being anorexic doesn't help either.

Then again, I spent so much time alone that I feel like I started losing the speech skill, so even if somebody approached me I would sperg out and they would think I'm still an idiot.

Nobody knows who I truly am anymore. Even my parents. I'm another person from the outside, mental problems completely control me.

No, it's not.

You've got a fucked up situation. But, the first step in solving a problem is recognizing that there is one. You've got a lot of things to overcome. It's hard to just change your life around because there's no switch that you can just turn on and off that will you allow you to just make your way through life. You need motivation. You need an incentive. You're anorexic and you suffer from a fake ideal body image. No one thinks you look attractive because you're anorexic and don't eat. You're going to fuck up your health and mentality even more by being anorexic. Me just simply telling you this probably isn't helping you though since anorexia lies deep within the skin. This is totally a "You" problem. YOU'RE the only one that can get back up on your feet and take charge of your life. Stop jacking off, stop watching porn. Look at hot girls and think about how fucking pathetic you are because you can't get one of them and how they don't want you because of your situation. Then change your situation.

>mental problems completely control me

This is the problem, stop fucking thinking that way. Step out of your bad habits. Take one step in the right direction, maybe eat a little bit more than you have, limit the amount of time you spend playing video games etc. Of course, this is all shit you've probably heard before, but it works.

For the same reason we still talk about Newtonian mechanics. They're incorrect, but good enough for most situations and simple enough for kids to wrap their heads around.
